I set up a Jellyfin service on my own NAS, version 10.8.13, using a Windows browser to connect, playback and transcoding are all normal. However, there is no way to play it with the official Jellyfin and third-party vidhub and infuse on iPad (both can successfully connect to the server), and only another official app, swiftfin, can play it. But swiftfin doesn't have video quality options and can only be streamed directly. Do you have any good solutions to watch movies or TV series in your Jellyfin server on iPad?

Poster Feb 1, 2024@ Anonymous8031 I use the windows browser to watch the same video without any problem, the transcoding is normal, the network environment is the same, sad reminder

Anonymous8032 Feb 1, 2024https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vidhub-video-library-player/id1659622164 You can take a look at vidhub, this rookie, has already taken this as the main force

Poster Feb 1, 2024@ Anonymous8032 I also tried this, it can connect to the server, but it cannot be played

Anonymous8033 Feb 1, 2024infuse or vidhub, vidhub has never been used, it is made in China, cheaper, the author is quite active on twitter, it is estimated that there are bugs and needs, and you can find people directly on twitter. 👀, but I feel that the name vidhub is not very good 🤣 If it is better, it may be much more popular.

Anonymous2034 Feb 1, 2024@ Poster No, there is plex, you can't keep it for a long time and replace it with another

Poster Feb 1, 2024@ Anonymous2034 doesn't use it often, and I don't think it's necessary to change it to a charged one

Anonymous2641 Feb 1, 2024Jellyfin tossed several times but was not satisfied. Later, the server was changed to webdav, and the client decoded and searched for such things as Infuse and Vidhub, which was quite satisfied. Because I bought Infuse, vidhub and Infuse are used alternately, and I feel that Infuse is easier to use

Poster Feb 1, 2024@ Anonymous2641 If there are more high-definition sources, don't you think the traffic can't stand it?
-
Anonymous8034 Feb 1, 2024No problem with swiftfin on my side In addition, the VLC DLNA jellyfin server plays normally when DLNA is turned on. This is the most worry-free on the intranet, and there is no need to enter a user name and password

Poster Feb 1, 2024@ Anonymous8034 I have no problem streaming swiftfin directly here. If I don't transcode, why should I set up jellyfin?

Anonymous2641 Feb 1, 2024@ Poster # 12 I mainly use AppleTV or laptop to watch. I have a public ip, configure ddns, and use the same address for both internal and external networks. It is also very smooth to plug in AppleTV directly when I go back to my hometown. There is no need for traffic to watch

Poster Feb 1, 2024@ Anonymous2641 Oh oh, so I see. On the one hand, I can't stand the mobile phone traffic, and the other problem is that the upload bandwidth is only 30m, and I can't stand the high bit rate videos

Anonymous8035 Feb 1, 2024Only infuse and fileball are used, both of which seem to be unable to transcode (

Anonymous11007 Feb 2, 2024Just change it to Plex + infuse directly. The Plex server does not charge and does not require transcoding services. The vidhub is fake HDR and Dolby, which can't be used.

Anonymous13092 Feb 2, 2024I used to play it on an infus LAN, but it could not be played when mapped to an external network. Later, after upgrading to the latest jellyfin server, infus can be mounted normally.

Anonymous23 Feb 2, 2024I also burn mobile data. Directly use nginx-full to enable webdav, and directly use infuse or browser to play. Don't consider cutting the resolution at all, just screen the resolution and download it when downloading the film
