This is the first time I use an iPad tablet to give online classes to my children. I need to share screens to teach, PDF books, and I need to write and draw in PDF. Sometimes I need a large empty space to explain exercises. What software is good to use, or how to configure it?

https://support.apple.com/zh-cn/102576 I don't know if it is the needs of the original poster

Mi Tai understands the needs of the original poster. What the original poster means is that the original poster is a teacher, and then he needs to browse the pdf + notes + whiteboard on the same screen, and then cast it out? Then this can be disassembled into four requirements: 1. Split screen, 2. pdf browsing notes, 3. Whiteboard, 4. Screen projection meeting. 1. The current ipad pro supports front-desk scheduling and can be used directly using multiple apps in split screens. 2. Each pdf note application has its own advantages and disadvantages, and the landlord can choose freely. 3. The whiteboard can be directly used by the system's built-in application "Boundless Notes". 4. You can use the conference software when you project the screen. For example, enterprise WeChat, zoom, etc., but the same is true, each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

btw: Even for the largest 12.9-inch ipad pro, it is not a particularly reasonable choice to browse pdf + whiteboard at the same time on a split screen. The screen is too small to see clearly.

You can use GoodNotes for pdf, and Boundless Notes for whiteboard

Although in fact, Samsung tablet is the best experience for this demand. If you use it for a long time, it is really recommended to consider Samsung tablet. The application only needs a built-in Samsung Notes + Tencent Meeting to satisfy all the needs.

Samsung's pen doesn't feel like knocking on glass when writing. Buying a pen case on Taobao feels almost the same as normal handwriting. Moreover, Samsung Notes doesn't use many fancy functions, which are very practical. Samsung tablet + Samsung notes + Samsung pen, it is a must to meet the needs of the landlord, and there is no second one. The cheapest Samsung tablet (about two or three thousand, and the pen is given) can have a good experience.

Can I use an iPad to split the screen and then open a Tencent meeting to share the screen

During the epidemic, I took online classes for 3 years. At present, the most comfortable solution is to make the handouts into PDF, leave them blank when typesetting, and write notes on the blackboard after enlarging them. The advantage of this is that writing on the blackboard and notes can be saved after class, and students can draw gourds and take notes with you. As long as the PDF reader is comfortable, the Adobe Reader I use is completely free.

I don't know what discipline the original poster is? Is there a large amount of class notes? If the amount of notes is not large, PDF margins are enough; If you have a large amount of notes, you can insert a few blank pages in the middle of the PDF handout, which is specifically used instead of blackboard writing.

I have an idea that is very suitable for OP: a quick memo that can pull out a blank space in the lower right corner for writing, see https://support.apple.com/en-cn/guide/ipad/ipad5d91fd88/ipados. Or open it in the "side pull window", see https://support.apple.com/zh-cn/guide/ipad/ipadfe7c65e9/ipados for details. PDF writing can be written with the Apple Books that comes with it. The disadvantage is that there is a low probability of dropping the blackboard writing, but the blackboard writing in online classes is not very important.

I feel that this requirement can be met with a GoodNotes, and I can open PDF files directly. Create a new page when you need a large empty space to explain exercises, or use an extra notebook to write on the blackboard. The software itself supports opening multiple notebooks in one screen like a browser, which is very convenient. https://i.imgur.com/ZveiiGy.png
