workoutdoors, apple watch, heart rate problems

I found that when running with s9 and ultra2, the heart rate often cannot be detected within 3 minutes of running
Various methods have been tried. Sometimes the heart rate can appear after running for tens of seconds, but in most cases the heart rate is gray, and the heart rate only appears after three minutes. Both running watches s9 were later replaced with ultra2 have this problem
If you switch to WorkOutDoors running, it will falsely report a high heart rate within a few minutes of running, such as 169 or 175. In fact, the heart rate is not detected, and it will only be normal after a few minutes
I wonder if your Apple watch is the same?
Are there any recommended heart rate belts available for workoutdoors? Haha

Anonymous5540 Jun 30, 2024No, mine shows heart rate all the time. Are you wearing it too loose

Poster Jun 30, 2024It's pretty tight, let's try it with a heart band

Anonymous4629 Jun 30, 2024I haven't encountered this problem before. I suggest you look at the wearing position and tightness? But if you strictly need your heart rate, it's also good to buy a heart rate belt. I have used polar h10 and coros heart rate armbands with ultra. In fact, workoutdoors itself said that watchOS actually only allows third-party apps to connect two Bluetooth devices at the same time, so it is recommended that you just connect the heart rate armband to the watch. workoutdoors still reads heart rate information from the watch, but the heart rate information at this time is provided by the heart rate belt.

Anonymous3325 Jun 30, 2024The most recent version found this problem, I don't run but walk fast. My solution is to open the heart rate app, and it will recognize it after a while. At this time, it will be normal when I go back to the exercise app.

Anonymous429 Jun 30, 2024No solution, the design idea of Apple Watch is not a professional sports watch orientation. Garmin and Gaochi watches will first search for stars to measure the heart rate, and then click on exercise to start recording. Apple Watch focuses on the convenience of one-click opening, but it is completely stopped for slightly more professional needs.

Poster Jun 30, 2024@ Anonymous4629 # 3 I read that someone on reddit asked a question, saying that the link is H10. Sometimes I don't know if the wod is connected to the watch's heart rate or the heart rate strap. I will try to change it back to the loop strap tomorrow. I am still used to nlke's rubber strap with holes. It is cooler in summer and easy to clean

Poster Jun 30, 2024@ Anonymous3325 # 4 I thought the same thing at first. I also deliberately set up a separate pre-run warm-up training, but the warm-up is normal, that is, whether you use wod or Apple's own fitness app, as long as you start running, you have a few minutes of heart rate. I can't read it, I remember that s7 and s8 don't have this problem, and I don't know why it's not normal since s9

Poster Jun 30, 2024@ Anonymous429 # 5 I used Songtuo and Garmin before, and then I used Garmin for a while to start running and searching for stars. It was too slow, sometimes it took five or six minutes at most. In addition, sometimes the heart rate often failed to synchronize with Apple Health, so I switched to Apple Watch

Anonymous3009 Jun 30, 2024I have used three apple watches, including ultra, but they can't measure the heart rate. This is a common problem with photoelectric heart rate watches. The same is true for changing to Garmin Gaochi, but some watches will guess the heart rate and make you think it is measured. The main reason is that it is not easy to detect when it shakes. Generally, there is no sense when walking and riding a bike, and the influence of temperature is quite large. @ Anonymous429 # 5 Apple can search for stars as well, but after starting recording, it makes people unaware. If it is set to accurate start, you will also see the star search icon after startup, and you will be reminded to start after the star search is over.

Anonymous11007 Jun 30, 2024A common problem is that optoelectronics are like this. It is said that when professional meters cannot measure data, false data is displayed. When the skin is dry, it is easier to have problems. Now I am prone to problems on my left wrist and rarely on my right wrist.

Anonymous4629 Jun 30, 2024@ Poster There are two ways to determine whether the heart rate belt is used. One is to take a look at the back of the watch. If the heart rate belt is working, the lights on the heart rate behind the watch will not light up. The other is that if you use workoutdoor to connect the heart rate band, you can choose to wait for the external sensor to start. In this case, when you start running, if the heart rate belt is not connected, the workoutdoor will not start, but will ask to confirm whether to start without using an external sensor. I had it once before, the heart rate belt was attached, but the h10 body was not installed...

Anonymous1451 Jul 1, 2024This problem is hopeless. It can only be solved by wearing a heart rate belt. I feel that apple's idea is that I have to calibrate the vibration at the beginning to get the correct heart rate. If it is incorrect, I simply won't give the data. Others, such as garmin, give it directly. In the past, the error rate of heart rate data exists, and now the latest fenix7 has almost no problems. Then recommend the arm band for the heart rate belt, which is much more comfortable and has good accuracy

Poster Jul 1, 2024I'll change the way I wear it tomorrow. If it doesn't work, I'll buy a heart rate belt

Anonymous10847 Jul 3, 2024I am also running into this problem with my s7
