In 2024, will people who use Mac Mini as routers share their experiences?

There is a Mac Mini at home that is not used by anyone. The configuration is not bad, so I want to use it myself. Apart from being used as a router, I didn't expect a good usage scenario (relatively speaking). I searched around a lot of related topics, but there are many old posts. Can any v friends who are still using Mac Mini as routers come out and share their plans and experience?

@ Anonymous1716 How stable is the mac always turned on after bypass routing? Or is it turned on when needed?

@ Anonymous11431 doesn't shut down all the year round (standby sleep doesn't affect it), so I do bypass routing by the way (the soft routing used before). My home divides the network into groups and only acts for what the agent needs, so the stability is quite good, except for power failure or node problems, and I usually haven't encountered any problems. Switching from soft routing, first, there are very few functions used, and hard routing is more worry-free. In addition, in recent years, airports are not as stable as before. Using surge to maintain is much simpler than soft routing plug-ins, and it is also simple to capture packets and modify rules when needed. simple

@ Anonymous1716 I have similar considerations, because I am the only one at home who surf the Internet scientifically, and if soft routing crashes, I am afraid that it will affect the use of other people in the family. Thanks!
