The new Magic Keyboard with Touch ID (USB-C) A3119 is good

I placed an order on the official website the day before yesterday (other channels have a 15% discount but I like en-US and can only buy it on the official website) and it was delivered yesterday A few days ago, I bought the C-port Magic Trackpad A3120 at a discounted price Compared with the previous generation A2520+A1535, the improvements are as follows: 1. A language switch button has been added in the lower left corner, which is really convenient. It is similar to the position of the virtual keyboard switch button on iOS devices (I remember that the earliest Mac language switch was Mac + Space. I don't know what version started to become Ctrl + Space) Of course, I bought it in the first half of the year. The MBA keyboard has been changed 2. The convenience of one-line communication brought by USB-C port 3. It doesn't seem to be disconnected casually. The previous A2520 always had to press the keyboard again and wait for reconnection after I was in standby for a period of time In addition, the Touch ID unlocking experience is very poor The new A3119+A3120 is unlocked in seconds when you put your finger on it in standby Power consumption reference A3120 from the 21st to today from the 27th. The power consumption dropped from 97% to the current 91% in 6 days, which is almost 1% a day. At the same time, the reconnection speed after restarting is also very fast The host is still the old M1 Mac mini and no adjustments such as system reinstallation have been made The promotion is indeed visible

@ Anonymous2972 Because my mini is used to be placed on the bedside and connected to the Studio Display to watch football games/live broadcasts/Infuse movies. I don't need to use the F area and I am very used to the Magic Keyboard's Function Keys position to adjust the volume/brightness and so on. I just need it After selling the A2520, I replaced it with MX Mechanical for a month. There was no Touch ID/Function location change/The F area and the main area are too compact and I am not used to it

Did I buy the new typeC with Touch ID and numberic keypad for the black keyboard? The biggest problem is that it is really a bit too long and I am not used to it

I don't know how long it's been since you updated the system or for other reasons (is it purely the fault of the keyboard?), I started with the m1 processor (I changed to the Magic Keyboard at that time). The keyboard is a separate language switching key in the lower left corner, only when I used the MacBook with an intel processor. Key combination switching is only used. I looked at the current model A2449. I have been using it for almost 4 years and have not encountered any faults.

@ Anonymous8449 I used the walnut keyboard trackpad tray from Tod Studio on TB to compress the lower landscape width I am used to having Numberic Keypad on desktop computers, otherwise I always feel inconvenient when I need it

@ Anonymous1716 But the capslock switching ability is still there. I basically use capslock to switch... The earth key at the bottom is really useless

@ Anonymous1716 My A2520 was bought on the official website in 2022 (en-US). Thank you. There is indeed no language switching key. If you want a bar, I can provide a selfie of the product after purchase and an order from the official website. In addition, Taobao is selling Magic Keyboard keyboard film. If you go and look, you will know that A2520 really doesn't have that key The problem of losing contact is just changing the keyboard experience, I just talk about my own situation

Is it good to use? I don't want to enter my password

2 indeed 1 and 3 are not available before. The keyboard with Touch ID that comes with the iMac has 🌍 keys

@ Anonymous2974 1. If you are talking about the lock screen password, the password memory every once in a while (72 hours?) requires you to enter the lock screen password before you can continue to unlock with Touch ID 2. The built-in Passwords can realize input-free supported web pages/apps. Adding Touch ID just adds an extra layer of protection 3. When installing some third-party. pkg programs, you need to manually enter the lock screen password. Touch ID is not valid for this I can only say that it is very useful for unlocking the machine

@ Anonymous483 You are the same as the friend above because the short Magic Keyboard (A2449) you all use did have it a few years ago The long TouchID + Numeric Keypad model was indeed just launched this year And I always compare the old and new two long keyboards on my mini The iMac/short model is fine or already available is another matter

To be honest, Apple's Magic Keyboard keyboard is not suitable for boys, the keys are too narrow! After using the mechanical keyboard and then switching back, I felt that I had nowhere to put my fingers, and I didn't dare to move on a large scale, so I had to type twisted. I also used the 16-inch MacBook Pro 15 years ago. At that time, the keyboard of the 16-inch notebook was larger than the Magic Keyboard, making typing significantly more comfortable. I hope Apple can produce a larger Magic Keyboard, which can refer to the previous 16-inch laptop keyboard. At present, notebooks are 13.3, and the keyboard of notebooks can be bigger.

@ Anonymous2975 I don't use Magic Keyboard for long-term text input. There is a self-organized customized keyboard or Logitech's MX, which is more comfortable than this I bought this thing just to look good + original function keys

@ Anonymous2975 Apple's magic control, whether short or long, has always been the standard keycap size, and the mechanical keyboard keycaps I have used are also the same size. However, most mechanical keyboard keys have a relatively large gap between them, and each key looks a little bigger

@ Poster Well, I'm mainly interested in the Fn key, which is very convenient with the Swish control window. But the four buttons of Magic Keyboard are concentrated in the lower left corner (it's crowded, it's so easy to press the wrong buttons....). Without 3-5 years of effort, I'm afraid I won't be able to complete skilled muscle memory. Magic Keyboard also has a place to complain about. The 'left and right direction keys' at the bottom right don't need to occupy the key positions. Just like a notebook, it's better to vacate the upper half. It seems that Apple wants to make the Magic Keyboard consistent with the notebook keys, but the steering wheel is inconsistent. Can't figure out where the logic is to do this

@ Anonymous46 The size of the base space may be the same as that of the mechanical keyboard, but from the perspective of typing experience, the keycap with a smaller contact area of the mechanical keyboard will definitely be more comfortable and accurate. Simply put, the higher the keycap, the more accurate the typing will be and the better the hand feel. Apple directly uses the key size of the earliest mechanical keyboard to make ultra-thin notebook keyboards and Magic Keyboards, which is actually inappropriate

@ Anonymous2975 This is why I buy standard long keyboards for desktop computers. A2520/A3119 are all long keyboards. The direction keys are standard size and separated from the functional area above When using MBP or MBA, there is a keyboard in the bag (currently MX Mechanical) The last Intel MBP 2019 direction keys I used were all half-height. Later MacBook Apple just changed them The short Magic Keyboard has never been used, but the logic should be modified synchronously with the MacBook

I'm using an A2520, really fingerprint recognition is too slow, not as good as a notebook. If the new keyboard is upgraded with a fingerprint chip, it is indeed worth it
