iPad pro 2024 cellular version power consumption problem

by Poster Dec 5, 2024 30
I have bought the ipad pro 11-inch M1 cellular version and the ipad mini6 cellular version before, and found that the power consumption is much higher than that of the wifi version, regardless of whether the card is plugged in or not; I now plan to buy the m4 version of the US version of the ipad, but I found that all the US versions come with esim, so I would like to ask you whether this esim version of the ipad will consume extra power like the previous physical sim card version of the ipad? (without opening esim)

I have an esim ipad mini7. If I put it on standby overnight, it can lose 30%-50% of the power. It's too exaggerated.

@ Anonymous4578 I rub, do you have esim?

Have you put your Apple Pencil on your iPad? I thought it was a cellular problem at first, but later I found out that the Apple Pencil was charging all the time

The US version of Wi-Fi iPad does not come with eSIM...

The SIM card only participates in the initial authentication, so there should be no difference in power consumption

Huh? Huh? As long as the mini6 cellular plug-in card does not turn on the traffic. It still has more than half of the power after a week. If 5G standby is turned on, the power will be about 10 o'clock a day

The power failure of 24 11-inch pro cellular airplane mode is indeed as fast as that of cellular. It seems that the cellular module cannot be turned off

@ Anonymous8991 Yes, but I tested it later and took off the Apple Pencil and found that the impact was not very great

@ Anonymous453 The key is what I found. Both Pinduoduo and Xianyu say it has an esim version. If you can't use it, sell it as a wifi version

The conceivable reason why the cellular version consumes more power should be that the cellular version has a hard GPS module and the Wi-Fi version has AGPS positioning (if no card is inserted/cellular data is not enabled)

@ Poster That's because it's all purchased from the operator for zero yuan, so it's cheap, and IMEI is in the blacklist

@ Anonymous453 # 11 Can you tell me how to buy a contract machine? I also read that the operator's official website has it, and it needs to be tied to ssn. If you take this thing back and use it directly, won't the buyer hack it? Is paying money to solve dating cheaper than retail?

The reason why the US version on Taobao is all esim is because this is a contract machine, which is equivalent to an American user who signed a contract but only paid for the first month and sold the iPad to a second-way dealer. The second-way dealer shipped it to China as a Wi-Fi version. In this case, American users will be blocked or even sued Although this kind of machine looks like the esim version, it can't install esim at all, and Apple will definitely refuse to guarantee it

@ Anonymous8449 # 14 There is actually such a pitfall. I bought the Canadian version of my iPad Pro 2020, but the physical card slot can be used.

@ Anonymous4139 can use Chinese operators

@ Anonymous339 It shouldn't be all of it. What I compared is my brother's iPad, and he has an AirPods.

@ Anonymous8449 # 14 The kind you're talking about should have a carrier lock, right? So what's with the unlocked ones? It can't be unlocked by the seller paying liquidated damages, can it? Wouldn't that be more expensive than buying retail directly?

@ Anonymous1786 iPad esim unlocked US version should be hard to buy you can try …. The kind that should be more expensive than the Bank of China is basically bought at the original price and then brought in
