Can iPad type code smoothly in 2024?

In the last year of school, I equipped my iPad with a magic keyboard. The reason is that the dormitory is so crowded that I can hardly put my laptop. Because I didn't like games that year, there is basically no problem. The only thing is that the realistic formula of iPad is different from that of x86 computers. Same criticized How to say typing code? There are many problems in running the code app that is blown online Do you have anything else to recommend Tencent Cloud's cloud studio is good, but the website always needs to log in, which is annoying mstsc is done with tailscale and the speed is okay

Just watch some video entertainment on your ipad, don't believe in any productivity

I can't open my laptop, but I can use my ipad. The laptop doesn't take up space on my knee, unless you don't use a touchpad, only a mouse

If you want to do web front-end development, the browser does not seem to have good dev tools support The code editor can be solved with code-server, but many people are used to using cursor

My experience is It's very smooth. I have been using iPad pro m2 and ios 16.3. 1 for half a year. It is currently one of my main productivity tools. To jailbreak, you can install clang go lua and all messy languages can be written locally. The editor uses emacs vim neovim, and the shell uses fish, but many tools need to be compiled and fixed by yourself. Fortunately, the commonly used tools generally only need slight modification to run. At present, it feels invincible and easy to use, with sufficient performance, lightweight, and can touch the screen. But I only use it occasionally to write code. I have only written three or five thousand lines on it in about half a year. My last productivity tablet was Xiaomi pad4, which is smaller than ipad. Now the screen size is just right for me. After all, even my mac is only 13 inches, which is always enough. In short, if the ipad can be jailbroken, it will be very easy to use with some bottom-level tossing ability. Otherwise, the code writing experience will be beaten by Android tablets.

I have been a user of iPad Pro + magic keyboard for many years. Except for ssh + pure command line coding scenarios, which can replace mobile office work, other scenarios are very frustrating to use

@ Anonymous3289 only supports iOS's own input method, both Chinese, Japanese and English

This thing plus the keyboard is heavier and more expensive than a serious thin and light notebook. Why do you type code on it?
