Instagram account display location problem

Click on Instagram's account center, find the password and account security options, and you can view the account login history inside, and find that I am displayed as Yibin, China. At first, I thought it was the IP that was sent, but it was displayed like this no matter how I switched it (this function is to update the location instantly), which made me feel a bit strange. So I opened Safari, logged in and entered the same location, and found that the location became Mino-Shi, Japan. So confused, maybe this is an issue with certain settings on the iPhone? To add a background: In order to prevent Instagram and other Meta apps from knowing my exact location as much as possible, I have turned off the tracking and location permissions of these apps, and the photos taken by the camera are also set to not save the location, and all the photos open to tInstagram are cat films. And my physical body is not in Yibin, or even a southern city at all.

This is not a problem. The app positioning of meta itself is not 100% judged by ip. The web page should have few permissions, so it can only be judged by ip As for the location of ig's domestic positioning, it was previously analyzed that the person in this ip segment turned on gps positioning, which caused the entire ip segment to be sent to China. I guess it is the same now

As long as there is one place showing China, the IP segment is being sent, which will cause other additional functions except basic functions to be unavailable (such as previous Reels, current music, shopping, new interface, etc.)

Unlike Google's delivery system, the actual test of Meta's delivery system will cause the account to display a large number of low-quality advertisements, which is disgusting.

Meta-based Facebook/Instagram/Meta (Horizon) accounts My three are bound to each other and integrated in the same account center I also observed that the login location shows that iPhone/iPad/Pixel/Windows four devices intercepted the data address recognition after changing airports in March last year. "Hubei" and "Beijing" once appeared. Today I see that they have all been corrected to "Shanghai"

@ Anonymous16 @ Anonymous296 However, it is very strange that the same Japanese node I use is displayed in China when I log in to my mobile phone.

@ Anonymous16 @ Anonymous296 But what is very strange is that the same Japanese node I use is displayed in China when I log in to the mobile app, and it is displayed in Japan when I log in to the browser. If it is an IP sending, it seems that both places should be recognized as China

@ Anonymous281 I have basically turned off all the permissions that I can turn off (almost the only thing left is disconnected, haha), but as long as it is accessed by the app, a record of Chinese login is displayed. I wonder how else it can know my location. In fact, it's nothing to show Chinese landing, that is, after the delivery, the edge advertisements are too rampant, and whether you like it or not, it seems to be pushing... 😇

@ Poster meta's current app location positioning is a black box, and even the airport unlocking can't be done. So I'm guessing too.

@ Anonymous16 @ Poster Recently, I bought an LBS tail plug, changed the positioning to 🇺 🇸, logged in to ins for many days in a row, and got the IP sent by Meta back to 🇺 🇸. It is currently unclear why my IP is sent. My device is in English language, region 🇺 🇸, vps in 🇺 🇸, location is turned off. The V4 address of VPS was sent to Zhejiang and the V6 address was sent to Chongqing, which was quite puzzling. The key is that when I first used this VPS, it was normal (you can open meta.ai) Since I am not using the airport, the VPS is exclusive to me. What I can think of is that my neighbor in the same IP segment has turned on the positioning, causing my IP to be affected and sent to China; Another possibility is the time zone or 🇨🇳, and then the address book matching is turned on. I don't know if it is calculated through the time zone + address book.

@Anonymous297 My time zone is Singapore (also East 8th District), but the address book permission is not given. There is also a Hong Kong SIM card in my mobile phone as the main card. When I go out, I also use the traffic of this Hong Kong card to combine with the VPN. It doesn't work. Click on the advertising content. About some options that can be seen in the advertiser settings, the location is China... How did you buy your LBS tail plug? After searching on Taobao, I asked, and the store said that it can only open 🙈 for 3 minutes.

@ Poster Make sure that the positioning is correct, and then turn on ins. The maintenance time is hard to say. It seems to have something to do with the strength of the gps signal in your location. If the gps signal in your place is strong, the maintenance time will be short. If the gps in your place is very weak, it can last for a long time. Because I don't use ins much, I mainly change the location when I log in every day, and then after a period of time, the ip I sent will be displayed as 🇺 🇸 again

@ Anonymous297 So that's it. I use insta as a circle of friends, which is quite troublesome 🤣

@ Poster Then save a wave every day and send it once a day, it should be fine 😅
