Ask for advice--iPad pro vs. iPad air

by Poster Feb 9, 2025 27
I have an ipad air m2 11inch on hand, under warranty I'm wondering whether to switch to an ipad pro m1 2021 13inch, a second-hand one in 2021 ipad pro advantages: 1. The ipad pro screen is xdr, but I don't know how big the improvement is 2. ipad pro is facial recognition 3. I have a complete set of ipad pro accessories (magic keyboard and apple pencil 2, neither support ipad air) ipad air advantages: 1. The battery is brand new 2. With warranty 3. The condition is intact, I don't know how the real ipad pro is in condition Please recommend it, thank you!

No need, don't replace the old with the new. The graphics ability of m2 is much stronger than that of m1

Without replacing the m1 urinary insipidus machine and equipping it with miniled, it is too late to run and charge it. You can flush yourself with high temperature protection and use it as a landline

Change, the ipad pro screen and speakers are much better

The screen of the pro has been greatly improved, and there is no problem with the battery. I have used the miniled of the m1 for three years and it feels fine The main reason is that the screen of air is too poor... but if you already have this situation, there is no need to replace it. If you are not considering buying it, I suggest you buy a pro. Why don't we wait for the tandem oled of the m4 later, but the full set of accessories of the m4 needs to be replaced

You can wait for the new air, it's more worth it

@ Anonymous3252 Thanks! I guess air m2 has been used for a few years

@ Anonymous8449 Thanks! I'm ready to keep air, mainly because I think my girlfriend's mini led doesn't feel like it has been upgraded much

@ Poster Don't worry this month, it will be released next month, air should be worth buying this time

In fact, the difference in sdr content is not very big. If you have hdr needs, it can be said that it has been greatly improved. I am currently very satisfied with the miniled of m1 12.9. The only biggest pain point is that when editing photos in lr, it is easy for the system to force the brightness reduction due to high temperature. I don't know if the oled version has been solved

The experience is definitely a comprehensive upgrade (except for battery life). The biggest question is whether to use the warranty equipment and replace it with an unknown situation. You have to consider this

Let's change it, in fact, the performance of M1 and M2 iPad is almost the same, only M4 can feel the performance difference

If there is no demand for hdr content, there is no need to change it. If there is demand, it is a rolling upgrade

The improvement of miniled and oled is still great, and many videos that are even SDR sometimes look like HDR. However, when I switched to the 11 "oled, I found that the battery life is much better than the m1 13" miniled, and it is really much lighter. The m4 is thinner. Although it is 13 "compared to 11", just looking at the 11 "paper data It is much lighter, and I will not consider any large-scale products in the future. My personal ranking is like this, m4 pro 11 "> m2/m1 pro 11" LCD > = Air LCD.

Isn't the biggest gap between air and pro the refresh rate?? That chip one by one cover instant noodles without cutting video can use out hook eight difference. My evaluation is that if you change it at a low price or within +500, you can change it to a pro without thinking. The premise is that the pro screen is not dark and the charging port is not broken. The experience of the pro is much better. The air series is pure electronic waste and expensive. Experience

The biggest gap is the refresh rate. Apple will never give air a high refresh rate. The 2018 pro is 120, and the air's refresh rate will still be 60 by 2024.

It is definitely not recommended to replace a new machine with an old one. If you have pro series accessories, you should carefully analyze whether your usage scenario definitely needs pro. If you don't need it, you can consider selling the accessories second-hand. Don't spend a lot of money to buy useless functions for accessories.

Just ipad air, currently in use for 2024 11pro, oled has not improved as much as imagined
