When is the right time to buy iPad air 6?

I'm going to change my child to an ipad. I'm using an ipad 6 now (i.e. ipad 2018), which is a bit old and will get stuck, and there are some problems with the screen and home button.
It is mainly used for online classes, video calls, and homework punching. Have an egg waffle party on the weekend.
I started paying attention to ipad air 6 on New Year's Day (2025.01.01), the 128G version. The price at that time was 3875, so I didn't rush to buy it.
When the national subsidy was granted on January 20, 2025, JD actually raised its price to 4299, removing all the national subsidy. I was very angry and didn't buy it.
At present, on February 25, 2025, the price on JD.com is 4799, and after the state subsidy, it is 4299.
Now I'm considering whether to wait and buy an air6, or buy a cheaper ipad 10 (2252 after 64G national subsidy) to make up for it.
I don't know if the price will drop. Will there be a new version, and the old one will be discontinued directly.
