* cpu i5-8500
* ram 16gx2
* ssd nvme sn570
* macOS sequeio
The 5k screen is super comfortable and the latest system is smooth, but I don't know if it will be abandoned by Apple next year.

Anonymous8131 Mar 5, 2025My 2017 basic model 5K, 24GB, 1TB M.2 solid-state (disassemble and replace it myself), sell it for 3,800 yuan in the same city, for reference

Anonymous8131 Mar 5, 2025I wiped it, I was dazzled, I thought how much it cost, 😂 You can tell the OP without doubt that since the M chip came out, Intel has been abandoned, don't have illusions

Anonymous2292 Mar 5, 2025I'm also using it. The memory is 40g. I want to sell it and replace it with a macmini. However, I can't buy a monitor of the same level at this price. I've been struggling.

Anonymous1715 Mar 5, 2025Unlimited. What do you need. It's better to install windows than to install windows after playing the mac junk system in the later stage.

Poster Mar 5, 2025@ Anonymous2292 In fact, the key lies in this 5K screen. I tried mac mini and external screen and used it back. The memory of 19 models supports a maximum of 128g, and the cpu can be upgraded to i9 9900k. As long as the system continues to support it, I want to continue to follow it.

Anonymous1866 Mar 5, 2025The screen is worth more than the motherboard https://i.imgur.com/duWRpIu.png

Anonymous1715 Mar 5, 2025@ Poster The destination must be windows. Don't think about it. There's up to one year left in intel mac support. The biggest problem with imac is that it doesn't have to plug in a graphics card, and it doesn't support display input, otherwise it will be a brand new computer.

Poster Mar 5, 2025@ Anonymous1866 Studio Display costs ¥ 13, 000.

Anonymous2292 Mar 5, 2025@ Poster # 5 The system can support it, and there will be fewer new software, and only arm64 will gradually become available in the future

Anonymous1660 Mar 5, 2025This thing is only worth the screen, but this screen can't be used as an independent monitor. The heat dissipation cannot suppress the IU. If the load is higher, it will drop to close to the silent frequency. If it is switched to 9900K, the improvement is also very limited. Now that there is no 27-inch iMac, it is too deep to remove the screen separately and sell it at the price of the original iMac.

Anonymous6478 Mar 5, 2025The same model is in use, we will fight for another five years 9900K/Radeon Pro Vega 48/64G/Monterey

Anonymous2978 Mar 5, 2025Stand up to project the screen and use it as an external monitor
-
Anonymous7121 Mar 5, 2025Buy a screen and get a free host series. I bought the model in 2021. I am a win user. At worst, if it runs slowly, I can use it remotely with other hosts.

Anonymous2980 Mar 6, 2025@ Anonymous1660 Indeed, it's so awesome. The screen of iMac 27 is really comfortable.
-
Anonymous2981 Mar 6, 2025Even if you abandon it, you won't sell it. Just remove the power supply of the motherboard and sell it. Buy a motherboard that modifies the monitor directly on Taobao, and directly buy a macmini, leaving the money for Apple's monitor

Anonymous8554 Mar 6, 2025Mine is a 9900k + 580x + 512g imac, which was upgraded to 64g, and I stayed on 10.15 as a development machine. Except for the WeChat development tool that jumped to the page when developing small programs, the rest were similar to my m2 air. There is no somatosensory difference. The 5k screen is really good. The secondary screen is a 24-inch Dell p2415q. The difference between 4k and 5k can be seen with the naked eye. Of course, there are also mirror and matte screen factors. Anyway, I have no idea to change it for the time being. I should use it. I think it can't meet my development needs. Let's talk about it.

Anonymous8554 Mar 6, 2025My idea is the same as that of the people upstairs. If it is too stuck, I will disassemble it and make a driver version, and then connect it to macmini or something like that to continue using it. This 5k screen is really nice

Anonymous2982 Mar 6, 2025@ Anonymous2292 Same, i9, 64g. I bought a Mac mini before, but I couldn't find a monitor of the same level. The studio display has been out for too long, so I finally left the iMac.

Anonymous2292 Mar 7, 2025@ Anonymous2982 studio display will be updated miniled next year. I don't know if it will be good
