Hard disk capacity expansion demand research

Mac mini M4 16G memory is not enough, 32G is okay, but there is nothing we can do about memory. The cost of expanding the 256G hard disk to 2T is not bad. At present, it has increased a lot by 1100-1400. The third-party hard disk solution does not seem very mature. Which one will everyone choose? External hard drive? Expansion? Add money? To expand capacity, you have to snap up few educational discounts and find a master. It seems that the process is very long.. Buy the expanded ones directly, but now they are ridiculously expensive online. If the price is lowered, will anyone be willing (a little selfishness)? Regarding the warranty, Mac mini is a micro desktop computer, and the hard disk is pluggable. According to my simple common sense, the expanded hard disk still has official warranty for other components. I wonder if this view is easy to use in apple? I think it is easy to use because it is supported by regulations.

It depends on the master's craftsmanship and the mood at that time, and the stability after 1-2 years of use, otherwise the judgment

@ Anonymous7241 This is indeed a bit flawed. The yield rate problem is rather troublesome and there is no way to test it.

You can plug the external hard disk first and wait until the price drops before expanding the capacity

The external solid-state drive is quite fast. Buy a better hard disk box, plug it directly, install the system on it, and nothing happens.

The plug-in system still has many strange problems. After I installed 15.3.2 on my built-in system, I couldn't update the official version of 15.4 after updating the external system to 15.4 RC1 normally. Every time I restarted, it returned to 15.4 RC1. Some people say that you need to update the built-in system version before updating the system. I also updated the built-in system to the official version 15.4, and the external one can't be used. Then there is a USB drive that doesn't allow you to use AI, it must be a thunderbolt drive. For the time being, I will switch back to the pure internal hard disk. Later, I will consider studying and mounting the user folder and playcover folder to the external hard disk for a while. In addition, I think the expansion of ten-layer boards is out of stock. It is estimated that a small batch will be made, or it will not be done later, or the price will be reduced after mass production of four-layer boards is cleared? But flash memory has gone crazy in the past three months. ssd has not risen so much, but the expansion disk has risen a lot.

Besides, your point about warranty, this should not be true at Apple. You can replace it, but keep the original hard drive and replace the original hard drive back if warranty is needed.
