After upgrading the CPU in IMac2017, the CPU performance score can only reach one-sixth of the normal

The beggar version of 27-inch IMac2017 exercised my manual ability, and I replaced the CPU I7 7700K and SSD by myself;
Then I forgot to plug in the fan when I turned it on for the first time (SSD comes with an installed system). After testing, I found that the problem was fixed, and the fan worked normally in subsequent tests;
Then the problem came. The CPU performance has been unable to improve. The Cinebench running score is less than about 1,000 points. Normally it should be 6,300 points. I don't know where the problem is;
Installing Win and using CPU-Z to test the CPU parameters are normal, but the test benchmark running score is only 400 for multithreading. Refer to 2648, which is also abnormal;
In addition to the lack of CPU performance, the boot time is two minutes, which is longer than the original mechanical hard disk;
I have tried all the methods on the Internet that take a long time to boot, but they are still ineffective. I want to know if this problem is a compatibility problem or a broken hardware.
Finally, I advise players who need to upgrade to leave it to professional people to do professional things. When I write this lesson, I will give everyone fun.

Anonymous2258 Mar 19, 2025Replace the cpu by hand? The original 2017 seems to be the core of amd, right?

Anonymous8449 Mar 19, 2025@ Anonymous2258 Apple never used amd's CPU Regarding the OP problem, iMac officially does not have a 7700K version. It is estimated that there is a problem with scheduling. You can refer to the operation method of hackintosh to fix it

Anonymous3118 Mar 19, 2025Go and check the frequency of the cpu. Maybe it is locked to the low frequency

Anonymous1034 Mar 20, 2025Is it possible that there is something wrong with this CPU?
-
Anonymous3119 Mar 21, 2025It is possible that the slot contact is poor and the CPU is not fully inserted into the slot or the pins are bent

Poster Apr 2, 2025I came here to update the follow-up. After disassembling the machine, I found that the corners of the CPU substrate were slightly bent and warped. The problem was that the screws of the lock heat dissipation module were too tight. After forcibly straightening them and installing them back, the problem was solved.
