    This represents that the program is running in the background. You didn't quit the program completely. Maybe because your Dock bar is dark, it shows white dots.

    @ Anonymous4429 You may have understood it wrong. My dock bar is vertical, and the black dot to the right of the program icon indicates that the program is running in the background. But now there is a white spot between the two programs
