Remember to turn off the proxy before macos Sequoia 15.4 update

by Poster Apr 1, 2025 24
I just updated the latest system, but I didn't turn off clash verge before restarting, which caused macos to pop up a white box after the update. There are two buttons in the lower right corner, which are ` back ` and ` continue `, but nothing happened after clicking. The desktop is in the state of frosted glass, the dock bar is not displayed, the apple logo in the upper left corner and the time in the upper right corner are not displayed. All software is under this white box. Click to make other programs temporarily cover the white box for a moment, but it is impossible to perform operations other than clicking. I tried long pressing the power button to force restart and switching users after restart, but it didn't work. So I suspected that it was because this white box needed to connect to the network to display some content, but my clash verge did not start itself, so the current disconnected state was not displayed, so I started the clash verge with hapigo, and the white box loaded the content. I didn't have this thing in every update before, and I thought it didn't happen this time. I didn't expect Apple to make a big one. It is recommended to keep a starter such as spotlight or hapigo, which is really life-saving at critical times

After updating macos Sequoia 15.4, the Mac automatically downloaded a third-party app in the app store. I don't know why (the automatic download of apps on other devices was not turned on, the app was uninstalled a long time ago, and the system was reinstalled)

@ Anonymous1838 this is not quite clear I haven't come across it

The situation is the same as yours. I directly used another machine to log in to kill-9 system assistant pid with ssh, and then it was fine. It doesn't work after restarting several times. I really don't know what Apple has been doing over the years. The system is getting worse and worse, and there are more and more problems. I feel that production users are test users]

@ Anonymous1838 I automatically downloaded three here, which were downloaded and deleted before...

It doesn't seem like it's a problem with the proxy. I turned off the proxy before restarting, and it still ran out. The other one is the settings assistant. I don't remember which version was added. Every time there is an update that Apple thinks is a big change, it will pop up

@ Anonymous23 Will there be any bad situation if I kill it directly like me?

I was trapped just after the update. I was forced to restart several times before the complete window was displayed. It was a network connection, and it was also forced to pin 😂.

I've blocked all the updates until I have to update them.

@ Anonymous10278 Whatever, anyway, I opened the application list and right-clicked the icon on the dock bar to close it. I can't operate it anymore, and I can't use it unless I kill the process

Turn on automatic update, click restart and the update is finished, there is no unexpected interface, and the agent is always on

I think it's a bug in the system this time. I'm abroad, I don't have an agent, and I also encountered this problem. At first I thought it was caused by some software

I clicked on the update last night and went downstairs to eat. There was no agent. When I came back, the system had automatically restarted. I didn't encounter any accidents. The clash verge also started automatically normally

apple has always been directly connected, but recently I found that the direct connection of some app updates is very slow, and the proxy is very fast. Yesterday, the direct connection to the update system was also super slow. It showed that it took 3 hours, and then the proxy acted, and the download was completed in 2 minutes. Fortunately, there was no accident

Brothers, there is a high probability that it is the fault of the iFlytek input method. I have also encountered it when updating before, including but not limited to the update that keeps stuck, the system is messed up after updating, and the mouse from the secondary screen moves to the main screen and clicks the rainbow circle. After uninstalling the iFlytek input method and updating it again, everything went well.

@ Anonymous6491 i rebooted several times too.... @ Anonymous2304 I thought it was my docking station problem. I have been stuck in the Apple logo, and there is no progress bar. I have to restart several times before I pass

@ Anonymous1838 After I updated, the system automatically downloaded Bitwarden. Paradoxically, the downloaded version is not the latest version, and the App Store also reminds that it can be updated

Surge for Mac hasn't encountered any problems
