How to do shortcut key mapping in macos?

by Poster Apr 5, 2025 5
My younger brother has just started using mac and is not familiar with many functions. I would like to ask, I use an external keyboard, this keyboard has a home key and an end key. In the editor that comes with the mac, I want to press the home button to jump to the beginning of the line. How to achieve this?

My suggestion is, just use spotlight or the same tool, and don't memorize the shortcuts. There are also similar tools in the editor, just remember the corresponding ones. For editing operations, remember, control the beginning of line a, the end of line e, the letter before f, and the letter after b. At most, use opt f, b to set the next word, the previous word If you have the conditions, buy a hhkb, typing is much more convenient. Try to leave the space in your brain for thinking, instead of memorizing shortcut keys to improve the operation speed.

Just get used to it. I often use windows remotely on the mac, and I get used to it by switching back and forth between two sets of shortcut keys. However, it's really difficult to use without insert on the mac. ctrl + insert and shift + insert can't be used
