About the metaphysical problem of slow loading of Surge Chrome web pages

by Poster Apr 9, 2025 19
Main phone: MacBook Pro M4 Pro (48G memory, logically speaking, it should fly) Backup machine: MacBook Pro M1 (8G memory, but it shouldn't be so stuck) Strange phenomenon: For these two computers, as long as Surge + Chrome is turned on at the same time, when opening the web page, it will turn in circles first, and it will take a few seconds to load it. Sometimes it even directly reports that the page cannot be found... but what is even more confusing is: ✅ Surge + Safari/Firefox → Open in seconds, smooth ✅ Clash + Chrome → No problem, the speed is normal Only Surge + Chrome in ❌ → It's as slow as dial-up Internet access What tried but didn't work: Chrome traceless mode ❌ Exit Google Account ❌ Reboot, update system, reinstall Surge ❌ Has anyone encountered a similar situation? Please save! 🙏 (or is this combination born with incompatible horoscopes?)

Blind guess that the DNS in the Surge rules is foreign, right?

Surge 5.10. 1 has no problems with MacBook Pro M4 Pro 48G memory

@ Poster # 1 You try surge5 to see. I also used surge4 before and felt stuck, but it was fine when I upgraded surge5

I have encountered it, mine is Qx + Chrome + LittleSnitch, I don't know where the problem appears, and it has not been solved yet https://i.imgur.com/cPNPYD5. png

I was also troubled by this problem some time ago. When I discovered it, chrome security DNS was screwed up. If I turn it off, there will be no problem

@ Anonymous4120 I tried it, downgrading surge or upgrading to surge v5 can solve this problem, you can try it
  • Anonymous4120 Apr 10, 2025
@ Poster # 14 I tried to downgrade to 4.10 and it didn't work, so I gave up and forgot it with clash haha
  • Poster Apr 10, 2025
    @ Anonymous4120 # 15 clash is also a good choice!

@ Poster # 14 I wonder if surge is intentional. In order to get people to upgrade v5, sending them an email also means that v4 does not provide technical support, so let them upgrade v5

@ Anonymous7244 # 17 Don't tell me, it's really possible. Before v5 appeared, I was always able to use it normally

@ Poster # 18 Damn, I have 2 v4 activation codes because this is useless, so I changed to quanx
