Looking for an easy-to-use recording software for macOS. The key is to record WeChat calls and phone calls. wiretap has been removed from the shelves. No matter how the software starts up, it's the king to always record it..

At present, when using Piezo to record WeChat, you can only record the local microphone, and the other party's voice cannot be recorded (I wonder if it has something to do with my wired headphones to answer). In short, it is not very stable.
Hopefully, whether it's a first call or a first start of the software, it can always be recorded properly.
The wiretap recommended by the post more than ten years ago stopped updating and can't be downloaded. https://www.v2ex.com/t/30212
Please recommend more.

Anonymous6779 Apr 13, 2025The other party's voice can't be recorded because the computer sound is not recorded. I use CleanShotX, and it's no problem to take screenshots and record screens, but it's a paid software.

Anonymous361 Apr 14, 2025@ Poster I have developed a software that supports recording, but there may be some problems with recording phone calls. I am very interested in supporting this function. If it is convenient, please add me on WeChat for discussion. WeChat can find me through "Make a Friend" on the website, thank you. https://www.engineerdraft.com/bemyears/

Anonymous10779 Apr 14, 2025Apple has developed the ScreenCaptureKit API for macOS screen recording. Now screen recording no longer requires third-party software to record the internal sound of the system. The quickrecorder application is very easy to use

Poster Apr 14, 2025@ Anonymous9230 Thanks for the recommendation, audacity I read the interface and introduction. Is it more professional? The interface looks a bit complicated. If I just want to basically achieve easy-to-use recording, is there a better recommendation? loopback and piezo are produced by the same company. I have read the introduction several times, but I am not sure about the application scenario of this software? Can you tell us what scenarios this software is needed? Maybe someday I'll need it. Thank you for your patience.

Poster Apr 14, 2025@ Anonymous361 Wow, developer, I saw you reply to others recommending voice translation software in the website before? bemyears, already collected. The story behind software development is to help your colleagues with hearing abnormalities. It's really heart-warming. I'm not an IT person, and IT's hard to describe a reasonable demand. I just hope that whether I call first or WeChat, then click on the recording equipment software or run the software vice versa, and finally I can record the sound well.

Poster Apr 14, 2025@ Anonymous10779 @ Anonymous1786 I'm using CleanShot X, but I just think I should use special software for sound recording. Maybe the experience will be better. Thanks for the recommendation. @ Anonymous9530

Anonymous9230 Apr 14, 2025@ Poster It's good for you to use piezo for basic recording. You can't record the other party's voice because the recording software only records the audio stream of the microphone. loopback can bring different audio streams together to form a new audio stream, and then let the recording software record this new audio stream.

Anonymous9230 Apr 14, 2025@ Poster There is another situation. For example, if you want to listen to songs with the other party during a voice call, the general call software only collects the sound of the microphone by default. If you listen to songs with headphones, the other party can't hear them. If you use external playback, there is a high probability that the noise will be reduced. At this time, you can use Loopback to combine the sounds of the microphone and the music software into a new audio stream and send it directly to the voice software

Poster Apr 14, 2025@ Anonymous9230 boss, after I use this default process, I hear the opposite sound of the recorded file with a big and small echo in tandem. How should I set it correctly? If channels is placed on the master node, it will cause the recording file to not have my own sound. If you close the channel, there will be a big and small echo when the call is playing. blob: https://imgur.com/f53d8b76-f286-4668-a71b-b638247cabdc
