Any recommendations for old topic MacOS browser

I used Arc before, but now I don't update it, and I switched back to Safari. I used Chrome by chance and found it so fast... The same web page loads in seconds in Chrome, but it takes 1-2 seconds in Safari. So I thought of changing my browser. But I heard before that Chrome's resource usage under macOS is much larger than that of Safari. I don't know if this is still the case now. Generally, I only open 10-15 tabs.
Do you recommend Chrome or Firefox now? Or is there a better choice?
(In addition, I configured SmartDNS locally. It is reasonable to say that Safari shouldn't load so slowly when there is cache. It is reasonable to load instantly like Chrome. I wonder if friends who build their own DNS have the same situation)

Anonymous12365 Apr 16, 2025The key depends on what you want? Speed? Privacy? Plugins? Streaming? And how is your hardware? What are your trade-offs?

Anonymous2462 Apr 16, 2025So how bad a mac are you, worried about not being able to run chrome?

Anonymous3299 Apr 16, 2025Chrome uses less memory than Safari, but the latter is more power-efficient.

Anonymous4002 Apr 16, 2025Safari is just a Mac version of IE. According to the current evolution speed of Web standards, it can't catch up at all. It's better to just give up and contribute some strength to Firefox to fight Chrome. Of course, I just talk in my sleep

Poster Apr 16, 2025@ Anonymous12365 Privacy should be similar, mainly speed. As for the plug-in Safari, it is quite lightweight, so the difference should not be much. However, streaming media is indeed a problem. Safari can watch Netflix in 4K, but I don't know if chrome will work. The hardware is not bad, they are all new m processors, but it is also good to save some resource overhead.

Anonymous12365 Apr 16, 2025@ Poster You said that privacy almost means that you haven't known much about browsers. Plug-in ecosystem safari is the worst, and Chrome's privacy is the worst. Streaming media is said to be best adapted to Chrome because it has the highest market share. Do you want to consider brave replacement? Anyway, I use FF with adjusted parameters myself, but I don't watch streaming much..

Poster Apr 16, 2025@ Anonymous12365 I really don't know about browsers, and I have no special pursuit of privacy. As for the plug-in ecology, because I have been using Safari before, the plug-ins I am looking for are all very popular plug-ins that support Safari. By the way, let me explain why I use Safari all the time. The most important thing is that the password of Apple Ecology is automatically filled. Although Google's plug-in store also listed the plug-in of Apple's password automatically filling, it is very poorly done (you can see it by looking at the ratings). Recently, the password management tool has turned to the self-built Bitwarden, and all systems/platforms support it well, so I consider changing my browser. In terms of streaming media, I mainly watch Netflix. I just went to the official website to confirm it. When watching Netflix4K on macOS, there is still only Safari as an option, but this is not a big problem. I have saved Netflix as an application, and it is Safari when I open it. Your recommended B rave is very powerful in terms of privacy protection, but all things considered, I'd like to choose the more eclectic Firefox first. Thank you for your answers!

Anonymous2689 Apr 16, 2025Safari has better resource footprint than Chrome in regular situations. But the problem is that there are too many unconventional situations on tmd Safari. Many websites have not optimized Safari at all, and memory leakage is precisely the traditional art of Guojia APP, so you can often see that some websites use up two or three GB of memory on Safari.

Anonymous5886 Apr 16, 2025Continue arc.....

Anonymous2098 Apr 16, 2025@ Anonymous2689 # 8 Firefox also opens some websites and the memory usage keeps increasing. If you open the same website with Chrome, there will be no problem

Anonymous14961 Apr 16, 2025macOS downloaded Firefox yesterday because the web page did not respond after successful verification of Safari and Alibaba Cloud; The whole platform has always been Safari;

Anonymous1675 Apr 17, 2025I use safari and quark browsers every day (mainly because of the network disk).

Poster Apr 17, 2025Safari does load a bit slower. In fact, Arc can still be used. If you don't update it, you just don't add new functions. However, the kernel has been updated all the time. After adapting to the existing habits, it is actually very comfortable. I switched from Safari to Arc, and because Safari has Tampermonkey, I switched back to Safari main force + Arc cooperation. Then I'm trying Dia recently, which can also be used simply.

Anonymous6805 Apr 17, 2025You can try zen browser interface the same as arc
-
Anonymous9779 Apr 17, 2025chrome should be the fastest, the disadvantage is that manifest v2 needs to be disabled, and the ad blocking plug-in is affected
-
Anonymous15191 Apr 17, 2025Safrai's translation function is easy to use, and it is often used to read literature.
-
Anonymous9645 Apr 17, 2025The main force is Safari, but we often encounter some websites that have problems opening Safari. Temporarily use domestic Chromium kernel browsers instead (such as QQ, Quark, Beanbag), and uninstall them after use.
-
Anonymous340 Apr 17, 2025Chrome has many advantages and plug-ins, which can be transformed and added to almost all the functions you need.
-
Anonymous12365 Apr 17, 2025@ Anonymous340 I think there are quite a few plugins for FF too..
-
Anonymous9780 Apr 17, 2025You chose Firefox, but I think you'll switch to Chrome later I use brave, but brave also has scandals!
