Recommend an external camera suitable for Mac

by Poster Apr 16, 2025 10
Usually, the usage scenario at home is an air + 27-inch 4k monitor, and the notebook can be used as a host with peace of mind when the cover is closed. Because video conferences are frequently held, an external camera with a microphone and good radio effect is needed. The best connection method is to be wireless. If it cannot be wireless, it is best to have a type-c interface, followed by port A. Need to be able to adapt well to macos. Please help me recommend one, with a budget within 500. Thanks a lot!

I also bothered with this problem some time ago and used an iPhone as a camera, but it was not very convenient. I have used the following cameras: 🔸 Greenlink 2K Picture quality and focusing are average, especially at night Good radio 🔸 Logitech C1000E 4K Better picture quality Good radio 🔸 Lenovo 2K The picture quality is okay, but the wide angle is too small Worst radio 🔸 Hikvision 2K E15a Image quality second only to Logitech Good radio 🔸 Flash PD200X Microphone The radio effect is terribly strong, but I don't usually use it much In the end, I only left the Hikvision 2K E15a, and all the others were sold. Finally, if you want to experience the best picture quality, you can only use FaceTime. After the WeChat video is compressed, your parents will not recognize it

@ Anonymous9286 # 1 The rear camera of the iPhone is still inconvenient, because I may need to swipe the phone outside the screen to touch the fish during meetings:)

@ Anonymous9383 # 3 Thank you very much, very detailed. I would like to ask what is the reason why I finally chose Hikvision instead of Logitech? The price/performance ratio or Logitech is inferior to Hikvision. Also, do these cameras have to be connected using a docking station? Can they be directly connected to the c port?

@ Poster Hikvision's price-performance ratio is enough. Anyway, it's not as clear as the iPhone camera, so I'll just keep a cheap one
