Is there a color ink screen used as the secondary screen of macbook? How do you feel?

Will it be more comfortable to look at the code for a long time? Will there be afterimages on scrolling codes? Does it affect reading? Do you have any recommended brands, models and sizes?

There is the same demand, but I haven't bought it yet. Aragonite, Dashang and Dawo all have eink displays, but I don't want 25.3-inch displays, which don't have any portability. I want 13.3-inch products that can be used as both displays and ordinary electronic ink screen readers. However, recently, even several new products don't support this function. Manufacturers generally divide them into two lines: displays and readers. There are quite a few offline experience stores in Aragonite, so you can go and have a look. There seem to be no big ones, and the big ones sent to me are all inside the airport.

@ Anonymous640 It seems that we both have the same needs. I want a portable color ink secondary screen that can be used for Mac within 13 ~ 15 inches. Aragonite seems to have a system, but Dashang customer service said that it doesn't support Mac.

@ Anonymous3322 searched for that video, it was black and white, and the refresh rate didn't seem to work.

@ Poster Big Me's new support is not available yet. My need is actually a portable Android ink screen tablet + a device that can have a wired secondary screen, but none of the current ones work. https://store.bigme.vip/products/b13-worlds-first-13-3-color-epaper-monitor? variant = 44606417207475 https://www.youtube.com/watch? v = dtgvO8eW69I & ab _ channel = BigmeEInkTablet

... I don't like your address. I have already ordered the 13.3 color ink, and it is estimated that it will not be delivered until mid-June. I will briefly share my experience when it arrives. macos is not supported on all the big high brushes.

@ Anonymous2178 Where did you book it, Yanzo?
  • Poster May 1, 2025
@ Anonymous640 I only need the secondary screen, not the own system, bigme seems to have its own system.

@ Poster....... https://store.bigme.vip/products/b13-worlds-first-13-3-color-epaper-monitor Officially, the reservation started on April 15/16, and it was already the 20th when I booked it. Many people say that the background color of the color ink screen is too dark, and the ppi is only 150, which is much worse than black and white. I also made a reservation to try it out, and if it doesn't work, I will return it.

The video and link upstairs is the reservation link for the 13.3 color ink monitor. It is a real monitor without a system. $500. There are only two color ink monitors on the market that can be used by macos, the Dawo 23-inch color ink and the Dawo 13.3 color ink. There are also 23 and 13.3 color inks in Dashang, both of which are revolutionary series, but the revolutionary does not support macos, and Dashang's high brush technology is exclusive to the revolutionary model. There is also a 13.3 black-and-white ink screen in the big model. The early model did not have high refresh technology and only had 11hz. It can be used by macos and has been removed from the shelves long ago. 11hz I don't even want to collect salted fish...

Nowadays, the color ink screen technology is black and white ink screen technology + color filter. Because of the filter, the bottom layer is much darker than the ink screen. If the background color is too dark, the front light can only be turned on to compensate. The background color of rlcd is also too dark. The black, white and red three-color ink screen technology is expensive, and I haven't seen any related news.

@ Poster What I found for you is a pure monitor without a system?
  • Poster May 1, 2025
@ Anonymous640 I read it wrong, it's a pure monitor. @ Anonymous2178 Wait until it comes out to see the effect. Can I buy it in China? I read that the introduction supports mac, but I don't know why the current 13.3 official says it doesn't support mac.

@ Poster The website above can be bought directly in China, just fill in the pinyin address, and it was sent by SF Express in China. However, the website is pre-sold, and there are still relatively few people who know and can operate it. It should be put on Taobao and the like later. The big reason is that the high-refresh technology does not support the apple series. It is said that it is because their high-refresh technology is related to the screen refresh of the underlying framework of apple's system.

I have a friend who is using bigme's color one. Mainly because I have a lot of reading demand for static text, so I bought it. Depending on your daily application, if it is only based on eye protection, but you usually deal with a lot of dynamic content, then just buy a better ordinary LCD monitor.
