Can MacBook Pro 16-inch M2Max directly promote 600 ohm high-impedance headphones Beyerdynamic DT880

The Bose QC35 sponge is broken and can't be used for the time being (it's inconvenient for people to change the sponge abroad). I ran to the store last night and bought this Beyerdynamic DT880, which can still be returned. I bought the 600-euro version simply because it is cheap (only more than 900, which is hundreds cheaper than the 250-euro and 30-euro versions).
But since it's my first time to come into contact with HiFi headphones, I really don't know how to judge whether the push will work or not. My own feeling is that the treble is a bit scattered and not concentrated enough, and the bass doesn't seem to have a very strong atmosphere. In short, it's not as perfect as imagined. But compared with Airpods Pro2, it does feel that the sound has a lot more details and a more three-dimensional sense. In terms of volume, 50% is basically enough. I mainly listen to pop and rock myself.
How to judge whether the push is good or not? Do you want to keep this headset?

Anonymous3150 May 4, 2025In the AI era, there is actually no need to post on the forum for this kind of question Not only does it take time to wait until the answer is not necessarily accurate chatgpt answered very well

Poster May 4, 2025There are sponge covers for Bose QC35 sold on Amazon, and it's easy to change them yourself.

Poster May 4, 2025@ Poster # 2 I searched and did have it, thank you

Poster May 4, 2025@ Anonymous3150 # 1 I think sound quality and listening sense are subjective things, and ai needs to understand these things based on the existing Internet corpus. Before asking this question, I actually conducted a full online search and ai consultation. During the search, I saw many different statements and didn't find an accurate case about this headset, and ai didn't give me a convincing answer. To make a digression, in fact, I myself study language model reasoning optimization. Times have changed, but should still be there. Sorry to waste your attention.

Anonymous3151 May 4, 2025Buy!, Just buy it if you ask. If you can't add a front end, it's quite difficult to struggle with
-
Anonymous3152 May 4, 2025No, not to mention that OP bought it for 600 euros. The 600 ohm 880/990 requires a high-power ear amplifier.

Anonymous3153 May 4, 2025@ Anonymous3150 is so superstitious ai? The probability of blindly answering this kind of question is very high, and it is difficult to judge whether it is true or false

Anonymous2185 May 4, 2025This is a problem that obviously relies on experience and subjective feelings. I think there is nothing wrong with discussing this kind of problem in the forum.

Poster May 4, 2025@ Anonymous3151 # 5 plus the front-end budget is too much, now I basically decided to try the 250 ohm one for comparison

Poster May 4, 2025@ Anonymous3152 # 6 According to experience, which one is more likely to work better between 250 euros and 30 euros? I read that many people in Xiaohongshu say that the 250 euros macbook is completely fine, and they also say that the MacBook Pro costs 2,000 yuan dac or something. I'm a little afraid that high impedance can push now, but the sound quality is not as good as 30 ohms

Anonymous3154 May 4, 2025Whether Hifi pushes well or not is inconclusive. Even if a designated match is given by the official, some burners will say that they didn't push well and didn't play their potential. Why don't you just take your macbook to the store and try a few more.

Anonymous5933 May 4, 2025Let GPT search online and this is the result, for reference only: Apple's latest MacBook Pro (14-inch and 16-inch models released in 2021 and later) is equipped with a 3.5 mm headphone jack that supports high-impedance headphones and has impedance adaptation function. This means that it can automatically adjust the output voltage based on the impedance of the connected headphones, allowing it to drive high-impedance headphones without the need for an external amp. Specifically: • When connecting headphones with an impedance of less than 150 ohms, the headphone jack provides an output voltage of up to 1.25 volts RMS. • When connecting headphones with an impedance between 150 and 1000 ohms, the headphone jack provides an output voltage of up to 3 volts RMS. In addition, these MacBook Pro models also have built-in digital-to-analog converters (DACs) that support sampling rates up to 96 kHz, further improving the quality of audio output. Therefore, you can enjoy a high-fidelity audio experience directly with high-impedance headphones with impedances between 150 and 1000 ohms (such as Sennheiser HD600, HD800 or Beyerdynamic DT880 250Ω, etc.) without the need for an external amp. It should be noted that for headphones with impedance below 150 ohms but low sensitivity (such as some planar magnetic headphones), an external amp may still be required for better volume and sound quality performance because they do not trigger the high voltage output mode.

Anonymous5933 May 4, 2025In addition, will what you hear be the real performance of Beyerdynamic's headphones? And that's it

Anonymous2047 May 4, 2025@ Anonymous5933 # 12 Don't post ai's reply. pity

Anonymous3155 May 4, 2025I have the same model of headphones, but I bought them 13 years ago. If I can't push them, I must put them on the ear amplifiers to improve the sound quality.

Anonymous3152 May 4, 2025@ Poster Actually, I don't really recommend using an onboard sound card to push this kind of big ear pack. If I choose one hard, I will choose 250 euros, which is also the one most used by hifi players. Even if I want to upgrade further in the future, there is potential to be tapped. As for low resistance and medium-high resistance, there are two ways to play. There are few people who really play well, and there are fewer and fewer amplifiers adapted to low resistance. Low resistance is the least recommended.

Anonymous9040 May 4, 2025The thrust is enough ≠ good to listen to (or you like to listen to it)

Anonymous2160 May 4, 2025Before, my windows desktop directly recommended 990 pro 250 euros, which didn't work anyway
-
Anonymous3156 May 4, 2025I pushed the dt880 from m3, and it's okay for 250 euros. But now using the Audio-Technica Bluetooth model, it is still troublesome to have a cable.
