These users whose confidential or private communications information is obtained by Apple and/or shared with third parties as a result of accidental activation of Siri. Apple denies all allegations in the lawsuit and denies any wrongdoing or illegal. The proposed settlement is not an admission by Apple to guilt or fault of any kind. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California has granted this notice. Why am I getting this notification? Apple's records show that you may be part of a settlement class and entitled to compensation. You are part of the Settlement Class if you are the current or previous owner or purchaser of a Siri device, reside in the United States or its territories, and your confidential or private communication information was obtained by Apple and/or shared with third parties as a result of an accidental activation of Siri between September 17, 2014 and December 31, 2024. Under the terms of the settlement, if the court approves the settlement and the final judgment is given, you are eligible to file a claim form to recover compensation. What does this settlement offer? Apple has agreed to pay $95 million to the settlement fund. The net settlement amount, after deducting attorneys'fees and related expenses approved by the court, service bonuses, and notice and settlement administration fees, including any taxes, will be paid therefrom to settlement class members who submit valid claim forms in a timely manner. Generally speaking, the company that coordinates the settlement (so-called settlement administrator) is responsible for sending these emails, and in addition to emails, notifications will also be sent in the form of postcards. Settlement administrator is a neutral third party appointed by the court, so it must not be Apple.
