Most of Apple's devices, including mbp and ipad screen panels, seem to be 8-shake 10, especially about m-series chips will be dithered by the GPU to achieve 10-bit through time domain (please Baidu Temporal Dithering), even if your external screen can only Receive 8bit signals, it can also display 10bit color depth through this, but this will produce low-frequency flicker and cannot be turned off (even if it is adjusted to sRGB color gamut, it will flash).
