Friends, can the M4 Macbook Air 13-inch, 32G + 256G configuration fight for five years in back-end development?

@ Anonymous3273 # 77 To trust your eyes, that is, there is a keyboard membrane, which feels like it will affect heat dissipation, but it won't affect much. As you can see in the picture, there is quite a lot of ash. The keyboard film mainly prevents English from being lazy and causing oil and food residues. Ha ha

@ Poster is hotter than m1, a bit hot, buy pro if possible, I regret it

IQiyi has a 10-year warranty, but the back end 32G is really a bit small

I see that many V friends say that the Pro fan doesn't turn, but using the Air expression, most of the time the Air doesn't burn, but once it burns, there is really nothing the Air can do.

It's not good to put a cooling base on the bottom of the Air

Up pro, above 24G, above 1T I currently have an M4 pro 24G 512G. I have driven a lot of chrome + 5 ide + 5 windsurf. The memory is enough, but the hard disk is not enough. I have to clean it up every few days, which is quite annoying. If you want to use it for a long time, go ahead

The 19 intel mbp models acquired in 2020 are still being used as main machines

Although the Pro fan doesn't turn, passive heat dissipation may do better. Air's processor heat dissipation doesn't make use of the whole fuselage shell (there is an Air gap between the processor radiator/vapor chamber and the shell). It may be Cook's knife method to fix the BUG that Air's passive heat dissipation is too good, or it may be to prevent the temperature of the area facing the processor from being too high (after all, the temperature of directly touching the processor shell must be higher).

On the same backend, my m1 pro was at its hottest when I opened the Tencent Video APP. I had never seen it so hot before, and I had never heard the fan sound. It was quite quiet.

It is not recommended to buy high-configured hardware for M series chips. M series chips will not squeeze toothpaste like Intel. It is more cost-effective to update and replace them every three years than to stack configurations

@ Anonymous8495 There is a high probability that it is a plug-in problem. Some plug-ins in VSCode are of low quality and occupy the CPU indiscriminately. Even PRO can't stand it.

@ Anonymous3280 # 91 I said this only after the actual test pro can stand it. I have all the equipment. I bought the air and kept it at home mainly for my wife to use

@ Anonymous9926 # 81 The keyboard membrane actually has a big impact, you can remove it and try

If you use this as the main machine, you won't be able to fight for 5 years. It can only be used as a terminal. It is small and light, and there is not much to do. Air can't do heavy work. Don't expect to plug in an SSD, connect a docking station, connect two external screens, and press a radiator-it can do the back-end work. To be honest, I won't use a computer like this. If you feel that you don't have enough money, just fill up the memory of your desktop or mac mini instead of folding it yourself.

Both the front-end and back-end are written, currently it is pro m1 16 256, it feels completely stress-free, if it is changed to air 24 512, the development is completely fine Normal development cpu memory usage is very low

@ Anonymous3186 I also have front and back end, but I now have 24G. When I just got it, I feel that it is not enough. I am considering whether to switch to 48G. When I slide left and right on the startup station, it's a little stuck. Maybe I just used it and don't know how to play it.

The hard drive is too small, 1T is more suitable, if you really lack money, you need at least 512
