After the macos update, the never-used Apple Intelligence occupies 80G hard disk space, cleaning method

Path ~/Library/Metadata/CoreSpotlight/SpotlightKnowledgeEvents/index.V2 At first I thought it was a Spotlight index, But after research, this is not a traditional. Spotlight-V100 database, but Core Spotlight's "Spotlight Knowledge Events" (SKE) log macOS 14 starts logging user-level behaviors (such as entries you click in emails, messages, calendars, and Safari) as "small Journal files" for experiences like Siri suggestions, natural language queries, and "continue playing/reading". It is only for the current user, and the location is in the personal Library, so you will see that the path starts with/Users/< username >. The excessive inflation of this directory has been confirmed by Apple forums and developer communities as a common space occupancy issue in 15. x. But it is completely safe to delete or inhibit its regeneration. How to solve it, The first step is to delete this folder. The second step, Turn off Siri & Spotlight Learning System settings ▸ Siri and Spotlight ▸ Siri suggestions and privacy → Remove "Learn from this App" for all apps.

Ah... my God, I have to click to close them one by one, Apple has not designed to close them all with one click

And even if siri is closed, it will be generated. I have always closed siri, but 80G is occupied

The following is the summary for o3 to retrieve: Summary of key points ~/Library/Metadata/CoreSpotlight/SpotlightKnowledgeEvents/index.V2 holds the knowledge events (Spotlight Knowledge Events, SKE) recorded by the Core Spotlight/Knowledge Agent; It writes your clicking, reading, and sharing actions in emails, messages, Safari, memos and other apps into micro logs. As early as macOS Monterey, there was a directory with the same name, but since the launch of macOS Sequoia 15 and Apple Intelligence, this set of logs has been greatly expanded to provide a personal context for new Siri and generative models. Hence- SKE isn't all about Apple Intelligence, but it's really one of the underlying data warehouses that Apple Intelligence has to rely on. Turning off or streamlining SKE will only make Apple Intelligence, Siri suggestions, lock screen recommendations and other functions lose their "memory", and will not destroy ordinary file searches. 2 Why did SKE expand sharply after Sequoia? Improved log granularity: In order to let the generative model "know what you just saw", SKE now writes a skg _ event.journal file almost every time you click on an email, photo, and web page, resulting in a doubling of disk usage. Personal context window lengthening: Apple Intelligence claims to recall context across days, so that you can ask, "Where is the PDF Eva gave me yesterday?"-which requires longer frame-free logging. Redundant writing during model tuning: Apple's technical white paper in 2024-25 mentioned that earlier versions will save redundant shards for offline playback and improve inference quality. SKE provides key personal context for Apple Intelligence. Without its new Siri contextual memory, notification summary, etc., it cannot function properly; Apple Intelligence's App Intents, which is open to developers, also relies on Spotlight Index + SKE. It seems that Apple Intelligence can't be used in China, so this is really useless

Yanzumen, do you need to log in to Apple Id in the US area or disable SIP to use Apple Intelligence?

@ Anonymous2928 Why should it be reinstalled, and the user has to take the pot when the system gets into trouble?

Since upgrading to 15.5 m1pro, it is obvious that the side is stuck, and the typing response of sliding ppt is also slower

@ Anonymous3587 This place depends on how often you use the apps in "Learn from this app". For example, I often use the photo app, often use the memo, It's just over 80 gigabytes, because it will record my daily, when, what photos and memos I see
