Magical problems with Samsung T7 Shield on mac

by Poster Jun 3, 2025 18
At the beginning, the writing speed was only 1M/s, and the speed came back to 800-900M/s in about ten minutes. What is the problem? Many people on Reddit have this problem and no result has been discussed

There is the same problem with an old T5 that has been used for two years. JD.com directly refunded it with a 20% discount. Then I saw that due to the storage price reduction, I could buy a new T9 with the refunded money, which made me happy for several days.

@ Anonymous4082 Then does T9 have this problem?
  • Anonymous4084 Jun 3, 2025
I thought it was broken. I tried it at night to see if it would be better after 10 minutes

APFS does not have this problem, but exFat has encountered it

I have also encountered this problem. I thought it was caused by not using it for a long time.

@ Anonymous4085 From the feedback on the Internet, NTFS also has this problem. It should not be a file system problem

I switched to APFS and found no problems yet

    No problems with APFS

@ Poster @ Anonymous5143 The T9 I bought with a refund encountered the same problem again, but it was not so exaggerated. It was very slow in the first minute or so, so I was replaced with a new T9.

I have a Samsung USB flash drive with similar problem It's caused by the file format, just change it to another one
  • Poster Jun 4, 2025
@ Anonymous4344 consider it carefully hahahaha

@ Anonymous8337 I have encountered this problem with my T9, it is always APFS, just reformat it later. I've seen a saying before that Samsung's firmware is deliberately made like this, and the speed limit will be slow if it is not powered on for a period of time. I don't know whether this statement is true or not, but it should not be caused by the file system format. It is better to say that it can be recovered by reformatting.
