The imac 27 inch 5k, late 2015 and 2017 models, want to change to a samsung 970 pro 1T, any friends who have changed it?
There is an original disassembled NVME SSD on Taobao, but it is too expensive. 1T costs 4200, Samsung 970pro only costs more than 2200, and evo costs 1600
It is mentioned in other posts that you can use the adapter card on Taobao. Old models of machines seem to have hibernation problems.
Many people in the forum have changed their macbook pro to solid state. I would like to ask if anyone has changed it on imac? Can you sleep normally?

Anonymous3517 Dec 8, 2018Sir, what configuration did you have at the beginning and what was the price?? I'm also counting buying imac5k Are lightweight video clip pictures stress-free later? Can I add memory myself?

Anonymous1660 Dec 8, 2018@ Anonymous3517 # 2 Lightweight editing is definitely no problem, add memory to see [Apple Support:] (https://support.apple.com/zh-cn/HT201191 # install1).

Anonymous163 Dec 8, 2018First of all, you have to determine one thing, whether you buy a hybrid hard drive or a single SSD

Anonymous9463 Dec 8, 2018Late 2015's iMac 27 'replaced with JetDrive ™ 850, which turned out to be a 1TB Fusion Drive. Before replacing the hard disk, it took about a week to do homework. After starting the hard disk, it took two days to disassemble and replace the disk to install the system. By the way, I cleaned the machine, because it was difficult to disassemble the machine once, and it was not easy. By the way, the CMOS battery was also replaced. After changing to the JetDrive SSD, I still set up the Fusion Drive. Read and write performance: The read speed is 1200MB and the write speed is about 700MB. The performance is really great. But after using this SSD, it crashed after waking up from hibernation (it has nothing to do with whether Fusion Drive is grouped or not). I contacted Transcend's technical support and wrote a detailed bug report of several hundred words, with detailed screenshots attached, JetDrive Toolbox The detailed log information of the tool only replied with three words, "Not supported" and I cursed in my heart (I didn't write it in the email). Well, we can only disable sleep completely and make do with it. I also encountered an nvme-related kernel panic during normal use the day before yesterday (only once). It is recommended that the poster confirm that the hard drive does not support hibernation before replacing it, otherwise it will be really miserable.

Poster Dec 10, 2018I have two units, one is for the autumn of 2015 and the other is the 2017 version. They are both entry-level configurations. They are both second-hand ones bought on Xianyu. The price of the two units is about the same, one is 8,800 and the other is 9,200. They are both very good to use. 2017 The screen is better. I haven't tried editing myself. 1080p should be stress-free. 4k may need to be on solid state or replaced with low resolution. I added the memory myself, it was easy, one to 24GB and the other to 32GB. It's great for daily use, but it takes a while to jump to open the app, and the original 1t Fusion Driver is still too slow. I have ordered a 1T 970pro and an 18-yuan adapter card from a certain treasure. Please wait for my test results.

Poster Dec 10, 2018@ Anonymous9463 I tested my original 1T fusion driver once, and I remember that it read more than 700. This time I went directly to the 970pro to see how it performs. After reading the reviews of the adapter card sellers, it seems that the consoles after 2015 have no hibernation problem?

Poster Dec 10, 2018@ Anonymous3521 brother what model are you? Have Hibernation Issues?
-
Poster Dec 10, 2018@ Anonymous3517 I have read the test and found that with the same hardware configuration, the transcoding speed of win10 is a little faster than that of mac. But imac looks good

Anonymous3519 Dec 10, 2018@ Poster rmbp2015, no problem. Even if there is a problem with the old model, it is OK to turn off hibernation

Anonymous3522 Dec 10, 2018@ Anonymous3521 Are you 15 or 13? How about the power consumption? Then how much can I read and write now?
-
Anonymous3519 Dec 10, 2018@ Anonymous3522 13, the power consumption has not been measured, reading and writing is about 1.2 gb/s
-
Anonymous3522 Dec 10, 2018@ Anonymous3521 Not bad, you can consider it

Anonymous2937 Dec 11, 2018@ Anonymous9463 Can iMac 2017 5K achieve dual hard drive dual system? When I placed the order, I bought an M.2 SSD hard drive, and then installed an additional hard drive on the reserved SATA3 interface and win10 with independent partitions. Is it feasible?
