Does the 2014 late iMac work as a gaming console monitor?

I retired a 2014 late 27 'iMac and want to use it as a switch monitor. I wonder if it is feasible? This generation has no hdmi, no usb-c. Inquire through the official website to use Thunderbolt Port can be used as an external monitor for other Macs. I found the Thunderbolt cable from the official website, the Thunderbolt to usb-c cable, and wanted to connect it to the switch through these two cables. When I first wanted to buy it, I read on the Internet that someone said that the imac after 2017 can only be used as an external monitor. Not sure if this is the case? Have any v friends tried it? More than 600 yuan for 2 wires or inquire first okay..

Cannot be used directly as a monitor, you need to use network streaming or recording card curve to save the country

The target monitor seems to be an extra monitor for another mac, but it is no longer supported.

I remember even 27 5k didn't work? To be reasonable, who is an adapter will definitely earn such a big business opportunity

2014 non-retina should be able to target display mode. However, 4K 5K cannot be used as a display because of bandwidth and interface protocol problems. You can completely find the supporting information on the official website... Why do you want to be so confused by hearsay? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204592#requirements
