I retired a 2014 late 27 'iMac and want to use it as a switch monitor. I wonder if it is feasible?
This generation has no hdmi, no usb-c.
Inquire through the official website to use Thunderbolt Port can be used as an external monitor for other Macs.
I found the Thunderbolt cable from the official website, the Thunderbolt to usb-c cable, and wanted to connect it to the switch through these two cables. When I first wanted to buy it, I read on the Internet that someone said that the imac after 2017 can only be used as an external monitor.
Not sure if this is the case? Have any v friends tried it? More than 600 yuan for 2 wires or inquire first okay..

Anonymous263 Jun 25, 20192014 non-retina should be able to target display mode. However, 4K 5K cannot be used as a display because of bandwidth and interface protocol problems. You can completely find the supporting information on the official website... Why do you want to be so confused by hearsay? https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204592#requirements
