Audio output switching issues between iMac's built-in speakers and headphones

by Poster Nov 12, 2019 6
Insert a 3.5 audio head, and the output automatically switches to headphone mode; Pull out the 3.5 audio head and the output automatically switches to built-in speaker mode. Is there a way to implement that in case of inserting an audio header, the output mode can be selected? I read that someone on the Internet said that it can be solved by using a USB external sound card. Has it ever been useful?

I didn't bring headphones, but the system preference-sound-output, can't I change it here? I use a usb sound card, which can switch the output, but I haven't noticed the audio header.

@ Anonymous9258 The settings couldn't be changed as early as five or six years ago. Another method is AppleScript, but I couldn't operate it (maybe I didn't get it right). It seems that it's best to buy an external sound card.

@ Anonymous9258 Can you tell me which sound card you are using?

@ Poster # 3 What I use you can't use...... I use a Sonic Port VX-Line 6, a guitar microphone that comes with its own sound card.

Either external sound card, docking station, or Bluetooth

By buying a Ugreen usb to audio 3.5 mm interface, you can switch the output device at will, but I feel that there is a loss of sound after usb to audio
