How is the warranty calculated after the official iMac screen repair and replacement?

In 2019, there were smoke-like shadows in the lower left and lower right corners of the imac screen. Because it was still under warranty (expires at the end of March), I went to the Apple Store to make an appointment for inspection. After the inspection, I was told that the screen was filled with dust. Because it was not man-made damage, the screen was replaced for free (original price including tax: RMB 4,405), the staff reminded: the screen warranty is only one year (not a main component).
The question is, after the screen is replaced, will the warranty of the screen still be until the end of March or 90 days? Or does the screen recalculate for a year?

Anonymous5316 Mar 6, 2020If it is less than 90 days, it will be calculated as 90. Where is there a recalculation of a year??

Anonymous11545 Mar 6, 2020Do you know how the gray spot appears? How to avoid it? Or is it your circumstances?

Anonymous344 Mar 6, 2020I definitely won't recalculate a year Generally, if the remaining warranty period exceeds 3 months, it will be calculated as the remaining warranty period, and if it is less than 3 months, it will be calculated as three months See the terms for details

Anonymous5318 Mar 14, 2020@ Poster How long did it take for you to repair your screen? I also want to fix it, but I'm worried that I'll have to wait a long time.

Poster Apr 1, 2020@ Anonymous11545 @ Anonymous3386 Apple's direct store said it was caused by the use of environmental dust. The staff who helped me deal with the machines mentioned that they had repaired a number of Internet cafe machines, saying that it was caused by the poor environment of Internet cafes and customers smoking. I don't smoke and live in Shanghai. The environment is relatively humid, but this situation still happened, and it happened to both machines. It is also very common to mention this situation on the Internet. I suspect it is caused by computer moving.

Anonymous11545 Apr 1, 2020Hey, I've been using it for a year. It hasn't been observed by the naked eye yet. A little worried.

Anonymous3386 Apr 1, 2020@ Poster checked it, and this phenomenon can be traced back to iMac 10 years ago. Others say that it is caused by the melting and evaporation of internal components caused by computer heating.

Anonymous3386 Apr 1, 2020I just checked. The screen is not the main component of iMac. Is this a consumable? Be prepared to spend more than 4,000 to replace the screen after a year without Applecare.

Poster Apr 2, 2020@ Anonymous3386 Right, the screen doesn't belong to the main component, so the warranty is only one year. There are smoke lines in the lower two corners of the screen, which is indeed caused by material sublimation, but the official doesn't think so. This problem has indeed existed for many years. I also have a 2015 21-inch Retina version iMac that also has this problem. It's just out of warranty and is not worth repairing. It is recommended to buy an iMac, buy an all-solid-state drive and add apple care +, so that it can be used worry-free for at least 4 years

Anonymous10550 Sep 1, 2020I also have the same problem with my imac. The 2019 21.5-inch model has smoky shadows in the lower right and lower left corners. It will be out of warranty in ten days. I just reported for repairs. I am considering whether to buy apple care + for one year.
