The iMac screen has become gray, is it time to retire it?

I bought a 27-inch iMac at the end of 2013 and have been using it for more than 6 years, with an average of 8 to 12 hours a day almost uninterrupted. Current system version OS X EI Captian. The screen looks like a faint layer of fog, and it will return to normal and become clear for an hour after it is turned on. This situation has been going on for more than a month. I always thought that I used my eyes too much and had something wrong with my eyes. Today, I asked someone else to see it before I realized that I had misunderstood myself. Is this the end of iMac screen life?

    This screen is a bit nervous. It is gray after half an hour of booting in the morning, but it is normal again just after restarting. I suspect it's a hardware problem, or a system problem?

    No, it's just broken. I still have a monitor that is ten years old. There is no problem at all. This is not a life problem, it is a quality problem

    @ Anonymous11069 The gray spot is still not solved on the 2019 version. I have this problem after using it for less than a year. The screen has been changed for free. apple care + is already a must

    Genius Bar says it has something to do with the usage environment, but there are too many people talking about this problem on the Internet, both at home and abroad. It feels like it is a design flaw. I have this problem on both 2015 and 2019 units

    Possible voltage problem? 1 Check whether the mains voltage is stable: Use a vertical fan, turn it on to the slowest gear and then see if there is a big difference between the speed during the day and at night/or a voltmeter 2. Insist on whether there is any problem with the computer power supply hardware Old Redmi used to have this situation. Dark, and then the edges flickered.

    @ Anonymous3517 It's ok under warranty, but don't change it out of warranty, it's too expensive, just make do with it

    Gray spots, high-temperature volatile substances from electrical components have reached the glass outside the screen. The solution is to remove the outer glass screen and clean it.
