iMac only has two usbc ports, and Apple is really stingy

In particular, the usba port of my imac2017 does not support gen2 yet. There are only two c ports in ten thousand years. How can I use it?

You will know if you install a PC (at least I bought my asus z390-i 2000 +) It would be nice to basically have a type-c

    Buy a docking station

PC has a lot of typeas, a variety of complete display audio network ports and pcie slots. Why do you need so many typec? Why do you have your typec output on the graphics card without using the motherboard? Some people take it orally by default when washing their mac

It's very simple. What else do you want to buy a computer that comes with a 5K monitor? Apple's idea is this: it is the general standard of port A, as long as it can be used, 3.0. For high-speed IO, let's go with Thunderbolt 3. As for the quantity, isn't 2 Thunderbolt 3s totaling 80Gbps enough? If you want 4 Thunderbolt 3s, then add Money Pro. Apple's configuration setup goal is to let users pay more to upgrade configurations

Desktop isn't enough? I want to hear what you have plugged in these two ports, and I still need the third and fourth c ports of Thunderbolt

@ Anonymous12879 A mouse receiver, an external hard drive Time Machine, used up

The C port of iMac is Thunderbolt 3 port, which is not only the USB protocol, but also the USB type-c used in physical form. The previous Thunderbolt 2 is also in the same physical form as miniDP, but it is not just the use of miniDP In addition, the latest iMac is the 8th generation U. Let's see what happens to this year's minor facelift using Intel processors (there are already running scores for the 10th generation U). The ARM version is estimated to only be worse in terms of interface

    My z170 also has a type-c port

@ Anonymous82 A mouse receiver takes up a Thunderbolt 3 port, you are really luxurious, if you have money, go to mac pro
  • Poster Jul 2, 2020
@ Anonymous1579 added money to customize, but didn't add money to pro.... People mbp have 4 ports, don't have to go to thunder and lightning, just use c ah....
  • Poster Jul 2, 2020
@ Anonymous12879 It's easy to run out, one type-c to hdmi, one Samsung t5, there's no place to connect the array or anything
  • Anonymous7591 Jul 2, 2020
Can't the lightning port be daisy-chained
  • Poster Jul 2, 2020
@ Anonymous373 Yeah, you have to pick it up yourself if you don't have anything for mac, you can't pcie extension yet, and you don't need to give thunderbolt 3, just two more ordinary usbc gen2, apple is too stingy.

I feel the main reason is that the motherboard can't be wired.

@ Anonymous12879 The mac pro user said the top of the case press a tb3 I connected a yubikey..........

The c ports of mac are all Thunderbolt 3, and the cost of each additional Thunderbolt 3 on the motherboard is very different from the cost of an additional usb. Just to use the c port without such a high bandwidth, just connect a hub with multiple c ports and that's it.

@ Anonymous12879 So in the end I'm an iMac Pro, enough mouth
  • Anonymous7592 Jul 2, 2020
I think what LZ means is that either there are a few more ports, or there is a Thunderbolt hub as standard, instead of buying it yourself

I guess this brother doesn't understand the amount of pci-e bandwidth on the pc desktop platform at all! On the desktop platform, the independent graphics occupies 16 pci-e channels, and the rest is added with a Thunderbolt 3 chip, which is enough for two Thunderbolt 3 ports. This is innate to the desktop platform now and cannot be avoided. Macmini 2018 has 4 Thunderbolts and 3 ports, that's because there is no independent graphics. If you want to achieve more than 4 Thunderbolt 3 + independent graphics, you must have a HEDT platform or above

@ Poster mbp is a mobile-level independent graphics, the amount of pci-e bandwidth occupied is low, and mbp removes all the usb bandwidth and gives all Thunderbolt 3 ports, which can achieve 4. iMac is a complete desktop platform, independent graphics occupies 16 pci-e channels, intel's desktop platform only has 24 pci-e channels, iMac can achieve 2 Thunderbolts and 3 ports, which is good
