iMac doesn't need to be shut down either

Before, the iMac was turned off when it was not in use (I used to think about being like MBP every time the box cover). Recently, I forgot to turn off the iMac when I went out for a week. I came back and continued to use it. When I was not in use, I continued to sleep without any impact.
* * In addition to worrying about accidental power outages at home, there is no need to shut down the phone 365 days a year... * *

Anonymous3113 Nov 25, 2020If you are not afraid of wasting electricity, it is actually better to prolong the service life without shutting down.

Anonymous1989 Nov 25, 2020iMac2017 27 5k If network activity is turned on, the power consumption in sleep mode will be between 9 and 60w The community has power outages several times a year without warning, so I also equipped an iMac with a BK650

Anonymous2465 Nov 25, 2020Windows can also be left without shutdown... My Windows computer hasn't been shut down in over 3 months, and the last time it was shut down was because of a move. It hasn't been shut down for almost 5 years before moving (it will restart after installing patches and version updates).

Anonymous4822 Nov 25, 2020@ Anonymous6046 > > > I remember to see on the official website that the power consumption in sleep state is less than 7 watts (I can't remember clearly), so it shouldn't be a big problem. The normal situation is basically 1 to 3 w

Anonymous3006 Nov 25, 2020My desktop is basically not turned off, except when I update and install something that needs to be restarted... The main hard disk has been powered on for more than 40,000 hours In fact, even if it is a high-performance desktop computer that can reach several hundred watts when fully loaded, the power consumption is only about ten or twenty watts when nothing is in standby mode, which is no more than half a kilowatt hour of electricity a day.

Anonymous9908 Nov 25, 2020The power consumption of my desktop computer after shutting down is 6w, which exceeds the full load power of the router at home. Not only does it have to be shut down, but it also has to be unplugged...

Anonymous7495 Nov 25, 2020win is also fine! I used hibernation mode from the xp era more than ten years ago, and then from the win7 era until now I have used sleep mode In sleep mode, only the memory is powered on. I used a power meter to test that the host only has a little more power than when it is turned off (0. x watts or two or three watts, I forgot)

Anonymous1957 Nov 25, 2020After my imac sleeps, the mouse is stuck very badly, so I shut it down every time

Anonymous5365 Nov 26, 2020I don't know what I want to say. Is there any computer that can't sleep? With the startup speed of macOS, isn't it annoying to shut down every time? The same SSD, Win10, Ubuntu all boot faster than macOS
