I don't know why the Thunderbolt triple hard disk box with 2T SN750 2T writes only more than 1,000, and the writing speed with 1T is more than 2,000

Hello everyone! I have some questions to ask you My iMac uses an external Thunderbolt Triple Box + SN750 1T, installed an external macOS system, it is very easy to use, and the speed can reach 2000 + write and 2400 + read. Recently, I felt that 1T was not enough, so I bought a 2T SN750 and found that the write was only 1100 +, the read was normal, and there were 2400 + The problems I am troubling with right now are Is the write speed of 1.1100 + enough to install an external MacOS system? Usually need to store and read multiple psd files of about 800MB in real time 2. The earliest one used was the 500G SN750, and the read and write speed was normal 2000 +. Only the 2T write speed was slow. Does anyone know why? 3. If I change to Samsung 970EVO PLUS, I don't know if it can reach 2000 + Note: The iMac is a fused hard disk, which is owned by the company, so it cannot be disassembled and replaced with the hard disk, and it can only have an external Thunderbolt three-hard disk boxed system The two old and new Thunderbolt three hard drives in hand have the same test results

I just checked various websites and found a statement that the write speed of the previously produced sn750 is normal, but it will not work if the main controller is changed later. It is said that the sn770 can reach 2000 + write speed

I suspect it is an exception. It is recommended to return it directly to the factory for a new one. You can check the information on the Samsung hard drive. Someone has tested it

@ Anonymous3670 It shouldn't be the case. I bought it on Taobao. Later, I bought it on JD.com and it still didn't work. The values are all the same 1100 +. I read the merchant reviews of the hard disk box, and the writing speed of 750 2T can't go up either

Western Digital, when it was first released, it used materials to gain a good reputation, and then secretly shrank. Some of them changed the main control and granules. In fact, strictly speaking, it can no longer be regarded as the same model. I call this wave of "hard disk assassins", and what I earn is the money you buy when you find something wrong and miss the return window because you are lazy/thin-skinned/spend time researching. If the speed of loading other disks in the box is normal, then it is 100% the problem of this disk. Return it if you can. You can't get used to things that cheat consumers.

    Master control

This is a problem with the SN750. I bought a 2T before, and the writing speed is normal. Because the master control was changed. 850 originally had this problem, but it was better after the firmware upgrade. But this upgrade does not include 750. So it's better to return the 750 and exchange it for a Samsung 970 or a Hynix p31.

The same is true for the 970EVO Plus. It seems that both the 2T disk and the Thunderbolt box have compatibility problems.

What you see is true, the sn750 shrank once.

    Yes, it's just shrunk

Are you sure Western Digital plays this way? HDD and SSD have always been the first choice for Western Digital, and Western Digital is recommended. If it is true, I know it anyway, and I should avoid the Western Digital brand in the future. @ Anonymous3671

The 2t version of sn750 is like this, the sn550 actually runs faster than the 750

@ Anonymous3674 Western Digital's HDD is okay, at least now the shingled plate has been explained in advance SSD has a lot of coquettish operations, shrinkage is one, and there is also a cold data gate caused by firmware problems in the past two years. In short, you have to be careful when buying his SSD

Has the poster found a 2T solid state suitable for thunderbolt...

The information I see is that the 2T models of the SN750 and 970 Evo Plus have problems with writing speed slowdown in the Thunderbolt box regardless of the new or old versions. The 2T size is clearly no problem. There are currently 980 Pro, Inland and Sabrent Rocket, and the latter two are mainly for the North American market.
