Residue caused by iMac Pro screen aging, how to minimize screen residue?

by Poster Oct 24, 2022 13
I have been using it for almost three years. During this period, the AC is almost out of warranty. I can't see anything wrong with the screen. Only the edges are a little red. This cannot prove that the screen affects my use. Only now did I find that due to the high contrast ratio in the menu column for a long time, there is a residual shadow when the switch is maximized. Although it will disappear in a few minutes. Already out of insurance (I wanted to renew the insurance at that time, but I couldn't find a national bank to renew it); For the sake of changing to a 4000 up screen, I might as well consider changing to an Ultra. So I want to ask, how can I maximize the alleviation of screen aging or residue? I'm worried that after another two or three years of use, the screen will be full of residues.

According to my previous experience using LG UltraFine 5k and 27 iMac, there will be afterimages on both sides of the back, but there will be no full-screen afterimages, so the actual use will not have much impact.

This panel is like this, with red edges and afterimages at high contrast. And the new 5k monitor is the same panel. Let's lower the contrast

@ Anonymous1579 And the new 5k monitor is the same panel. —— Excuse me, what new model is this?

@ Poster studio display? (Guess) Anyway, LG UltraFine 5K and iMac Pro have the same screen.

@ Poster studio display, exactly the same as the previous iMac panel model

@ Anonymous1579 😂 Isn't it … I also want to get rid of the iMac Pro and replace it with Ultra + Studio Display... As a result, the soup is changed without changing the medicine

@ Poster You probably fell into the pit again if you don't post.

Too much worry. This residue will be caused by the screen displaying the same content for a long time, and the decisive time will disappear. There won't be a situation where you think it's all over the screen and never disappears. On the contrary, the lower left corner of the screen is prone to gray and yellow, which is a common problem and has not been solved.

Just go for the warranty, as long as you can see that it is red, you can replace it

    @ Anonymous5344 # 9 is out of warranty.

@ Poster Then don't change the screen, just use it until you want to change the whole machine. All three of my iMacs have shadows in the lower two corners, and it will be the same after changing the screen for several years

@ Anonymous5344 # 11 I know, just wanted to say, I'll change it while I can. Then fight for another five years. This iMac Pro is ready to be out of print, although it seems that the screen is universal. So after I want to change it, I will fight for another 5 years. After 5 years, this iMac is estimated to be only ornamental.

My 27 imac 2020 just replaced the screen with ac + two days ago after the sales service. The edges are yellow and there are signs like screen burn in the lower left corner
