Is Apple Watch esim worth turning on

by Poster Aug 16, 2024 31
I have never bought a watch with esim before. I recently replaced it with a new watch. Now I am considering whether to activate esim. I have considered the usage scenarios, and I don't have the need to go out for running. It seems that esim cannot be used in other scenarios. Ask for advice.

Personally, I feel that it is basically useless except going out for running

Personally, I don't think it's worth it, and the running scene is not very comfortable. I have to fully charge it every time. LTE networking + running GPS mode + Airpods to listen to music consumes so much power that it won't last long at all; Since it can only be scanned, wearing a watch alone when going out cannot perfectly cover the payment scenario. Nowadays, life is too dependent on mobile phones. There is no scenario in my personal life where I can wear a watch alone when going out, and I have given up buying the cellular version

    1. eSIM may be attractive to Bank of China iPhone users who currently do not support this function, so it is suitable for opening to satisfy the sense of novelty; 2. Supporting eSIM is useful for users with strong sports needs who do not need to carry heavier devices such as iPhone; 3. At present, eSIM is basically 10 yuan/month, and generally speaking, there will be a free experience for the first month. The above is what I think is the benefits of activating eSIM for Apple Watch. However, according to my personal experience, the novelty passed in a month, and the equipped 100 MiB data used less than 40 MiB. Secondly, only the Bank of China iPhone and the Bank of China eSIM Apple Watch can activate the eSIM of the three major operators, which is relatively restrictive and I personally feel a bit tasteless. Then the Bank of China can join the unique "wireless network and cellular mobile network" permission switch of cellular mobile network equipment. After activating eSIM, it is necessary to re-authorize the apps that need to be connected to the Internet (such as fitness, music, etc.), and this setting will not be mirrored from the iPhone. If you cancel the eSIM, or activate the eSIM again, the permissions will be reset, which is too difficult to use. So all in all, I will not buy an Apple Watch that supports eSIM or enable an eSIM on the Apple Watch side in the future.

With eSIM function, it is turned off after one year of activation Unless you are a dual-wield user and forget to bring your iPhone when you go out, it can prevent missed calls. This is the only place I can use it Just imagine if you have ever gone out without your iPhone. If not, it's not worth the extra money

    Meaningless

It's not worth it, mainly because the sound quality of listening to music directly from apple watch is very poor

I turned it on twice and turned it off twice, and found that there are really no application scenarios

A family of 4 opened 4 esim apple watches, depending on the demand. I am having strong connection needs, locating and maintaining basic calls. And connecting with children

I have been driving it for a long time, and except for the power consumption, it feels no different from the previous wifi version

Agree with the upstairs, except for running scenes where holding a mobile phone is a burden, the other time is almost always in a state of keeping the phone in hand, and there is no need to turn it on at all Even regret buying the cellular version...

I've been driving it for a year and used it no more than 3 times. Don't drive it

The battery life of aw itself is worrying, and it is a beautiful toy when the honeycomb is turned on.

I'm mobile, and it failed n times, and the fee was deducted. The customer service can only refund the fee but cannot solve the problem.

@ Anonymous44 The small dial cellular standby feels like it only has half a day of battery life... it doesn't make sense

@ Anonymous3472 The main reason is that if you still go to exercise, the battery life will be reduced

For me, the only time esim came in handy, was when I went out to throw out the trash and forgot to bring my phone and keys, and called my mom on an apple watch and asked her to send the keys... There is also a friend of mine who went out on a trip together. When we split up, his mobile phone broke. He contacted me with his watch and took a taxi to save him

The% used is less than 1%. Of course, I also pay for the 1% of emergencies and temporary situations. It depends on personal consumption and risk. I don't care about the battery life. After all, I habitually charge it every day

It's good if you have exercise needs, but I don't use it much in other scenarios. I don't want to bring my mobile phone when I go out occasionally

@ Anonymous3185 # 16 Risk view, I like this sentence, just because of the 1%, the Ultra I have used from 3 to now must have a Cell.
