Did Apple only update 5G-A in China for iOS 18.4 this time?

It's very strange. I haven't seen people discuss the 5G-A (5.5 G) of the iOS 18.4 update this time, such as reddit/youtube. The English video didn't mention it, and Apple's update instructions didn't write. It seems that only Chinese users are discussing the 5G-A signal?
Is this an update only for China? Why don't we see any foreigners discussing it, or do we say that 5G-A has already been popularized abroad, and we are just blinded?
Can any overseas students confirm it? Why do you feel that this matter is only discussed in Jane?

Anonymous88 Apr 1, 2025@ Anonymous1790 Where will this still happen in China now? You should really try 5G

Anonymous1410 Apr 1, 2025The operator's system feels quite confusing. I switched from SE2 to 16 before, and China Telecom didn't give me 5G at all. I walked around the shopping mall and couldn't connect. I contacted customer service, and the customer service actually said that VoLTE was turned off. I don't know how my 10000 number and usual phone calls are made and answered. After a day, I was able to connect to the 5G signal. I don't know if the customer service staff operated something for me another day or something. But there is no need. The downlink speed of Telecom 5G (100mbps, sending beggars) is twice that of 4G (the downlink speed of mobile 5G is three times that of Telecom 5G, just tested in the house). On the contrary, because there are fewer people using 4G, the signal coverage itself is also large, and the current interruption is less than 5G.

Anonymous699 Apr 1, 2025@ Anonymous2769 However, that little coverage of millimeter waves does not change the speed of 50M-100M in most places in your verizon.

Anonymous2770 Apr 1, 2025Four years ago, the iPhone 12 was able to reach 1000M in Guangzhou, but now the iPhone 15 often fails to reach 500M...

Anonymous2771 Apr 1, 2025@ Anonymous699 @ Anonymous2772 The progress of 5G deployment in the United States is generally considered to be T-Mobile > Verizon > AT&T. In addition, T-Mobile has already had SA and carrier aggregation, and quite a few places are 4cc (1x N71 + 1x N25 + 2x N41), and recently even started to deploy 5cc, and tested 6cc. In addition, Reddit's r/cellmapper is a good place to learn about 5G deployment in North America: https://www.reddit.com/r/cellmapper/

Anonymous2771 Apr 1, 2025In addition, in terms of market position, I think T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T and Dish are exactly the feelings of China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, and Radio and Television. Even their frequency band distribution, network deployment, and number of customers are similar.

Anonymous2769 Apr 1, 2025@ Anonymous699 I basically have full millimeter wave coverage around Boston University, and it is also millimeter wave in my home.

Anonymous699 Apr 1, 2025@ Anonymous2769 is envious. We basically have no internet in the Bay Area of California.

Anonymous2773 Apr 2, 2025Isn't 5GA 5G Auto? It's the automatic 5G in the settings I didn't find it faster when I turned on WeChat or turned in circles
-
Anonymous5267 Apr 2, 2025Dual SIM, I tried it specially, China Unicom has it automatically, but China Mobile doesn't. But I used 4g before, because I felt that 5g was easy to cut off.

Anonymous2041 Apr 2, 2025@ Anonymous2773 5GA is 5.5 g.. 5G Auto is an Apple feature.
-
Anonymous2041 Apr 2, 2025@ Anonymous2770 The iphone12 more than 4 years ago was 1000m casually tested in Shanghai.. Because traffic per capita is 2.5 times more now than it was 4 years ago.. The total flow rate is close to 3 times
-
Anonymous1028 Apr 2, 2025It's useless, and the speed will be limited after a few years. How fast was the 5g network speed advertised at the beginning, and what about it now?
