MacBook pro m4pro battery life breaks down

I switched to m4pro. The energy consumption mode was automatic and the brightness was automatic. I only turned on some chrome and vscode remote and some other programs with no load. The power of 70 can only be used for 4 hours? It's so different from the previous experience when using M1 mbp. It has been used for a while, so it can roughly rule out the reason why spotlight rebuilds the index? Other friends who use m4pro, what is the power consumption situation?

Huh? Huh? That's wrong, right? I also have an M4pro, mbp 14-inch, driving Unity, goland, cursor, edge and other miscellaneous things, and it only loses 30% of the power in four hours. Unity still has a lot of graphics card load. You really have to check this. What's going on?

activity check to see if there is any abnormality in the 12h energy consumption, otherwise it can be guaranteed.

Next macmon, take a look at the total standby power consumption. Divide the battery watt-hours by the power consumption to get the standby time https://www.v2ex.com/t/1130655

On the same model, I had no power shutdown after sleeping all night before, and found a problem with the chrome browser. I saw it from the activity monitor. After directly uninstalling chrome, there will be no problem after reinstalling it.

Check the processes of intel in the activity monitor

When I bought my m1pro version, the battery life is more than half that of others. I suspect it is a hardware quality control problem

If you look at the activity monitor, you will know who consumes the most power within 12 hours, which is quite abnormal

Restored from the backup of the last computer, right? Try reinstalling the system

@ Anonymous8238 Is the power saving mode on?
  • Poster May 17, 2025
@ Anonymous4386 chrome accounts for 400, others are below 100 (2, 30), which is not high
  • Poster May 17, 2025
@ Anonymous11508 is generally around 10w, and it only takes about 7h to be fully charged, which consumes much more power than m1

@ Anonymous4812 I have no problem sleeping. After looking at the power consumption, chrome is indeed the highest. I will reinstall chrome and observe again. Thank you

@ Anonymous3172 Is it a comparison of the same model? Is there any after-sales service?
  • Poster May 17, 2025
@ Anonymous2690 Yes, time machine restored, reinstalling the system is not realistic

I feel that the battery life of m4 max is half that of m4

I'm an M1 Air, and I encountered desktop widgets that caused battery life to drop sharply when I was on macOS 15.4. It's slightly better after removing the desktop widget, and it's completely normal after updating to macOS 15.5.

@ Poster I also have a high-end M4 Pro, which is usually around 6w. Your 10w should really run in the background and front desk
  • Anonymous2690 May 17, 2025
@ Poster You changed the configuration, or some background programs keep running

The suspicion of some "programs with no load" cannot be ruled out. If you suspect a hardware problem and want to test the battery, the first step is to reset the system

@ Poster chrome is already 400, brother, are you mining?
