Has anyone used a 5k monitor under mac

Non-StudioDiskplay, for example, I bought 5k from viewsonic, and the national subsidy cost 3,500, but it didn't feel amazing. Since it looks dirty, the resolution is also very strange. It seems to be used to zoom to 2k, but 1080 looks okay. Alas, it doesn't feel worth it

You have to pay more for 5k. I'm studio display is very delicate Domestic miscellaneous brands are not good

@ Anonymous8449 Hey, it's difficult. It seems that you get what you pay for, but now I have adjusted some settings and I feel better

Used, non-Studio Display, Future Vision RV200 It is said that the native recognition should be 5120x2880 resolution, and then it should be scaled to 2560x1440 by 200%. If not, check whether the offline and interface are used correctly If it looks dirty, you need to check whether the color modes match and whether HDR is turned on.

@ Anonymous11512 Is it a problem with color? Do you still need to buy a color calibrator or something?

I am also a studio display, so I can only say that not a penny of Apple's display is wasted.

I passed by viewsonic's 5k experience, and I switched to Kuyouke's later, which was much better

  • Anonymous831 May 18, 2025
@ Anonymous12041 studio display is 5k, 6k is pro display xdr @ Poster It feels dirty and strange. It may also be related to the matte screen and the mirror screen

@ Anonymous11548 # 4 If the HDR is normal (I have encountered that the system turns on HDR when the iPad mini 7 is outputting, but the display does not recognize it correctly, causing the screen to be gray. Just turn off HDR in iPadOS), the color mode is normal (many monitors have modes such as mac mode or sRGB, depending on which one matches), I can't see it much worse than the screen that comes with the MacBook Pro with the naked eye, but because I don't do color sensitivity work, I haven't checked it very accurately

Studio Diskplay has been out for a few years. Is it cheap and none of them can play it, or is the demand for 5K too niche? Why can't the price drop?
  • Poster May 19, 2025
@ Anonymous11512 Well, HDR is fine. Now I found that there is something wrong with the mac mode of this monitor. After turning it on, the edge of the icon will be slightly dark, with a black edge, which looks dirty

Suggest the next BetterDisplay and open the full range of colors. https://wx4.sinaimg.cn/mw690/550f5a78gy1i1kj6ni1w9j20jo0yqalu.jpg

Two LG 27MD5KLB, 2560 * 1440 on the left is native to write 200% code, and 1920 * 1080 on the right is zoomed in 4K to watch videos, which is very comfortable.

@ Anonymous11512 I also have an rv200, but it will automatically light up from time to time. Have you ever encountered it? It feels like it should be a software problem, but I don't know where I can get the updated firmware. Automatic full brightness has nothing to do with whether the automatic brightness is turned on or not. I encounter it about 4-5 times a day.

@ Anonymous2291 # 15 I haven't encountered it, but I have used Mac to connect this monitor less recently. It's not that it's not convincing after long-term use If you are worried about a firmware problem, go directly to his customer service on JD.com. This kind of half-sized small factory will most likely add the manufacturer's WeChat account in the end. If you want to flash the firmware, they should also give tutorials

@ Anonymous11982 The demand is too small. This thing is not an alien technology. Apple doesn't use an lg panel yet. Compared with the upgrade from 4K to 5K, most people prefer to buy 4K high brush. To put it bluntly, apart from the need for point-to-point professional users of film and television design, ordinary people use nothing more than games and film and television to buy high-quality monitors. The film and television resources are all 4K. Who will give you 5K? Besides, the SD screen does not support true HDR. For games, the refresh rate and delay are king. The rest is office work, emm... In reality, it's quite rare for me to buy 5K for purely office work and coding writing, and there are many more people who buy hairtail screens

@ Anonymous2287 Is it the relationship between mirror screen and matte screen? But ViewSonic's seems to have average color
  • Anonymous2292 May 19, 2025
I looked at that screen before, and then I read JD.COM reviews and some reviews and finally detoxified it. Just because it is a matte screen, there is a big display gap. I currently use intel's imac 27 5k so I really don't want to downgrade the monitor.

@ Anonymous2293 @ Anonymous11512 @ Anonymous2290 Do you all actually use the 2k effect? I feel my eyes a little tired, not as good as the original 4k zoom 1080. Now it's okay to look at the web page and zoom in on the browser
